Picking up my Clio 172 Cup Tomorrow
#1
So is there anything I should know? I know the salesman will tell me most things but you never know.........
Is there a running in period? People have told me that you do not need to run them in but im very sceptical about this.
Should you change the oil at 1k miles?
Anything else?
Cant wait!!!
Thanks

According to log book run in is for 1k when you shouldnt exceed 4000rpm however on Cliosport net there is a difference of opinion as to whether you should observe this.
With our car we found that it loosened up considerably with more miles 2k at moment and getting better and better. Also fuel economy is improving all the time.
Good Choice

Scott,
What ever you do, DO NOT run the 172 in. It has been proved in various RR days that a nursed 172 will always put out an inferior power figure. I'd say go easy for the first 100 to bed the brakes and tyres in, then just go for it!!
I have first hand experience of this having had two 172's(not through choice!), the first one was run in the second not. The first one wouldn't have seen where the second had gone, the difference is so big!
Anyway happy motoring!
