Either way sounds like a dodgy Throttle Control Sensor or Idle Position Sensor...........then again could just be that the Stepper Motor needs cleaning and resetting. Give either Eurospec or Camskill a call, they are really good guys and wont mind trying to diagnose prob over the phone
