What's the point of the 'scooby slayer' bit Has the Impreza become the benchmark by which all cars are measured. Do ferrari secretly race scoobys to see if their up and coming models can hack it with the Impreza?? This car does 0-60 in under 2 seconds....would '700bhp RS200 Macca F1' slayer not be more appropriate.
Nice car btw

Don't mean to pi$$ in the fire here but a certain piece of media would explan that its physically impossible for a road car to hit 60 in that amount of time.
Something like 2.8secs theoretically. I mean, look at the spec, its on road tyres as well. Miss-print I think.
Nice car though. And, yeh, Scooby as a bench mark. Blimey, we're honoured!

Hi all,
I went to see the rallycross finale at Croft in October, I reckon that the 0-60 time is right, this RS200 skinned EVERYTHING down the main straight from the standing start, this included Per Eklunds awesome Saab, Dermot Carnegie's 650BHP Focus + modded 6R4's and the like. (you should see it go round corners!)
I didn't get to see the review on Sky but my mate said Colin McRae said it was the fastest and maddest car he'd ever been in.

Ferrari slayer, merc slayer, skyline slayer - if it weighs as little as that and has 700 bhp - it's going to murder anything.
Having had the great privilege to have been in Richard Squire's RS200 - I have to say they are the most awesome cars on the road. Damn thing spun its wheels in every gear (and jumped three foot sideways when we changed from 4th to 5th) at speeds well into 3 figures (seem to remember 150 coming and going very quickly - not on UK roads before anyone asks) - and that was on low boost (about 450bhp I think).
If you are ever offered the chance to go in one of the cars - do it, they will redefine your definition of a fast car.

Collins Performance has 2 of these in the work shop....1 standrd and the other is at the other end of the scale with 790bhp....it skips when changing gear as it spins the wheels....revs to 14k and from a standing start reaches 160 mph in just under 9 seconds!!!!!
but thats not on road tyres either.....absolute animal

Sorry guys, 'Scooby slayer' was a half-arsed attempt to have a dig at the 'Scooby versus...' crowd, i.e. show me an Impreza that will match those figures!!
..and if you don't believe the 1.8 secs to 60, ask the UK Rallycross Champion to take you for a spin!!

I seem to remember someone saying the lancia gp B rally car would have qualified on 6th place on the grip at the Portugese GP one year.
....and that a group B rally car could accelerate to 0 - 60 - 0 quicker than an f1 car.........on gravel.
Not sure I believe either of them as I have never seen any supporting evidence.

So ,
Can you go down tesco/safeway/sainburys etc and do the shopping it
Can you do the school run in it
Can you get it through an MOT
Can you get it in sonic blue
Can you get gold wheels for it
Has it got a bright switch
What the fuel economy like
What it like it town traffic
Can I get a sports exhaust for it
Can I insure one and what do I say when they ask me if its been modified
Can my local Ford dealer do a service for me on it
Can it go sideways for 2 hours without stopping
Regards,
ChrisP

The fastest one tested that I know of was an Evo version back in 1986 by Autocar driven by Stiq Blomquist. It did multiple 0 to 60 runs with the average being 2.8 secs and the best 2.1 secs and a standing 1/4 mile in 10.7

i`ve seen some where quoting ford motor co, doing a 1/4 mile in 9.5secs at somthing like 140mph and 0-60 in 2.8 they reconed it would top out at over 200mph. the top speed is a little hard to belive.
this would be what i`d spend a lottery win on mmmmmm rs200......

the top speed is a little hard to belive.
It would take a very, very brave person IMHO to get one up to that speed..
There was a Ford sticker on the windscreen which had the following numbers on it.
0 to 60 2.8
o to 100 7.0
1/4 mile 10.2
The one that I had was 575bhp and 475 lb/ft which believe me was MORE than enough

It is a great car but why did you have to call it 'scooby slayer', looking for trouble where we?
Can you go post it on the Porsche,TVR,EVO,TT, Ferrari, etc sites and insert the correct marque in the place of Scooby and see what reaction you get.
