ABS Brake Problems

My runaround car (Mk 3 Astra) has developed an ABS problem, meaning I have to take the Scooby out in the cold Booo. Anyway back to the issue. The notched ring which the sensor monitors has split and damaged the sensor. Does anyone know how easy it is to change this ring or should I just try tack welding it back up.
