Cool

I know according to all the reviews that the Z3 is a hairdressers car but all I can say is that its the best car I have ever owned. also it's great fun to drive.

Unhappy

You sure about that mate, have you driven a Subaru??? Yes it is a hairdressers car, if it hasn't got a M badge on it, i think you are mistaken.

I assume HKSubaru that the reason you are so opposed to the Z3 is that you have never driven one.

Ease off guys, the mans made his choice and is happy with it!!

I personally think the Z3 is an ok car but I probably wouldn't bother with the non-'M' versions myself

Are you guy's just into the fast cars or is it just the way I read it?. There is more to enjoying a car than it's 0-60 times.

I have some friends down south who have owned Z3m's and I had some great fun in them on the track. One was the roadster and the other was the coupe. Both IMO brilliant cars!

But I do have to agree that without the "M" you are wasting your time!

I drove a 2.2 Z3 all around the NZ.

Good cars, 2.2 is the minimum power-wise though. Have to turn OFF the traction control when you want some fun around the twisties. Interior well build but a bit too close to the driver. Heater was crap tho.
Over there, you rarely see bmw's, let alone Z3's unlike over here.
Would never own one myself though as I hate bmw image.
I have a Honda S2000 which is defo a much better car. much better performance, better handling, fun to drive etc. and a lot cheaper! servicing is £128 a go, once a year! fantastic.
Oh, & it's far far far more exclusive than the Z3.

Z3's are nice in their own right I suppose, but more to the point, how comes you've ended up on a Subaru BBS?

Anyway, it's good to hear owners enjoying their car, no matter what marque.

Cheers!

Why didn't you save yourself some money and buy a late 80's 3 series instead. you'd have got the same driving 'experience'.

Rotter, i guess you have made your choice, and aslong as you're happy with the car then that is really all that matters.

Dracoro - Did u happen to go to Remuera or Epsom in Auckland, there are definetly no shortageof Beemers over there. I'd have to say that Beemers are almost becoming as common as Subarus in terms as what you see on the streets.

Rotter10 - you want one, you like it, you got one - can't say fairer than that! I liked the car overall, just not the image they have over here. Enjoy it all the same & remember the traction control button OFF setting

ThsScooby - I was driving all round the south island hence it being rare. I agree the Auckland (where I spent most my time), there was more bmw's but they were totally overshadowed by ***** in their boy racer mobiles running down queens street. some of them made me laugh they were so crap. Puts southend & uk kevs to same tho

Cool

RWD cars rock around corners

I personally prefer the Z8 to the Z3, but I dislike the price tag - a nice Viper would do instead for the same amount

Dracoro - HAHA yep, we do have a lot of boy racers in Auckland. It is becomming a phenomenon around here. There are so many Mitsubishi Lancer GSRs with exhausts etc.etc. i can't stand them. The quality of the cars is just appaling at times, the other day i saw a old toyota with a cardboard body kit Anyways i could go on all day about this issue. Whered u go in the south island?

TheScooby - spend a coupla months working in Takapuna, drinking out in Auckland a few times a week (it's only 10 mins away). then I spent 8 days driving (almost 3000 klms) all round the south island. covered most of it apart from the west coast and the very north. So did the route 72 from christchurch down to queenstown, down to Te Anau, milford sound, around the southern coastal route to dunedin, then up the e coast to Christchurch, Arthurs pass & Kaikoura. Car was a bit dirty afterwards

Dracoro - Sounds like a great time!! Good choice on not going to the West Coast. Not very much at all goes on around there What car did you take around? Did you enjoy Queenstown? That has to be the second best city to Auckland down here. Back to the actual subject of the post: I saw another Z3 today, still don't like it....
