My boss in my last place of work had one. He had the one with the F1 style gear changes. They are pretty quick, but the gear system is somewhat 'under developed'. you could press the button, have a game of cards and then be ready for the next gear . But yes, they are quick...

Forget the SSG gearbox, get the manual Ci Sport and you have a very nice piece of kit to play with. Once they are moving these are quick, not mental fast obvsiously but they can move!

Between 30-100mph they are really swift, very smooth power delivery and effortless speed. In the rain take the DSC off and get some spare pants, you will need them!! - very entertaining!

Edited for **** poor spelling

...power wise?

I was following one on the way home from work yesterday. Seemed pretty nippy.

I had a 330ci in between Subarus. Power is good but they need to be revved quite hard - not as much torque as I was expecting. Once over 100mph I think they're quicker than Scoobs. Off the line they're pretty average as the traction control system is way to keen to cut the power. In the wet its rubbish.

I had the non-sport version and it was way too wallowy for me and the 'sports' seats are pants. Great cruising cars but very different to the Scoob.

I would have thought a standard classic Uk turbo is overall slightly quicker. A standard bug eye UK turbo would be similar performance levels?

Yeh, i agree in the wet it was horrid, the traction control just wouldn't let you drive. and when it cuts the power it take an age to come back in.

And so it proved to be...

231 ponies are not to be lightly argued with. A well driven one with a sports pack is quite impressive.

Also a shocker is the 330D, monster torque and point to point very very rapid.

A tuned 330d recently beat an E36 M3 Evo round a track and on a 0-62 test, so beware the 330ds!!!

I had a good run with a 330ci and an Audi S3 on an Evo forum meet last year. Wasn't much in it between any of us.
