Ran one for a couple of years b4 the WRX... loved the car but it was scuttle shake city as the other poster says.. The seats were to die for though.. drove back from the Dordogne via the tunnel to Yorkshire... 820 miles in one go... no probs..

Had one of the old ones (before GM came on the scene) a Convertible Turbo 16 S in metallic silver with black hood. Scuttle shake is right. It was also expensive to service (used specialists but not main dealers). BUT I loved it and still have a pang or two when I see them now. Had a couple of great holidays in France with the roof permanently down. It had so much more character than anything on the road now which are all basically variants on the same theme (with a few exceptions).

Curiously it made me drive differently. When you have a convertible it's all about being relaxed not about oversteer understeer. I actually think it made me a safer drive. Then came the Scoob....

Oh and it was also heavier than the stock saloon as they had to strengthen the sills. Which as yoou can tell from the posst above wasn't too successful.

With the pre-GM Saabs, the heated seats were standard. Post-GM they became an option

I found them particularly good if you were constipated
