Honda S2000 &/or something similar
Test drove one today (MY01 X reg). nice. not as quick as I thought it'd be though. sounds great when giving it welly though

Anyone got any further info on this motor? When were the upgrades made to it? I'm am tempted as it seems a suitable replacement for the C VR6 one day (maybe soon). Like the fact that it's supposed to be reliable and cheap(ish) to run.
Also, anyone recommend any other cars (RWD, 0-60 less than 6 secs, reliable(ish) etc..? budget - no more than £20k.

Go to the Honda-R Owners Club forum and have a look in the members gallery for some posts by "MK S2000".
This guy is an ex-CTR owner who recently upgraded to an S2k (for the hell of it!), he is now in the process of importing various Spoon components to upgrade it.
Oh, he also works for Honda.
Could be helpful.
One thing to remember about the performance - these cars only go quick if you 'drive it like you stole it'. Give it some stick and it goes like stink

Can't think of anything else that matches the performance/rwd/reliability etc. so I think I'm gonna get a s2000. & it'll only be a year or 2 old & thus in warranty & hopfully problemless!

What about an 2nd hand TVR, lots of grunt, all very fast, sound great. But may not start and are serously scarey in the wet.
A 2nd hand Z3M roadster, lots of grunt, great build quaility, M version handels best of the Z3's, prices have come down a lot.
Lotus Elise not much space but loads of fun great handeling.

Allow me:
TVR - running and servicing costs are enormous, reliability very poor, and quality of finish not the best.
Z3M - erm, its a BMW, I needent say any more, but what the hell, I will. Chassis is derived from the old model 3 series, and is not the best, plus you pay a big premium for the badge, and get labled a t*sser for doing so.
Elise - rawer than something that is very raw. Again, fit and finish very poor, more like a kit car than a serious motorcar.
Look great thou, and handle really well, but lack that "real" car feeling, and no VTEC!! only a rover engine to try and stir the soul.
Okay, all those comments were negative, and all those cars have some fantastic plus points, but I would still go S2k against those choices.
