Hi all, my friend is thinking about importing some jap cars and he was telling me that he can get 4-dor skylines for £6-7000, i didnt think they made any 4 door ones, but have seen a blurrry picture of one, DO they make them? and did they make R34 in 4 door??

Yes they make a 4-door Nissan Skyline, it is after all what the GTR versions are based on. The GTR is just an extreme version of the more basic saloon and coupe models they produce.

The R33 GT-R certainly came in a limited edition 4 door variant. Personally I'd be wary of importing one just because of the difficulty of getting hold of spares - if one of those doors gets bent you could be scuppered.

I've never seen a 4 door R34 car, though.

The R34 Skyline does exist in 4 door form (and as an estate), but I don't think they did a GT-R version of it. As Andy says they did do a limited run 4 door R33 GT-R, it was to celebrate an anniversary of some description.

i used to have a r33 2 door skyline and was told that the 4 door ones were often used as taxis in japan

The new Skyline is not really a Skyline, but a soft luxo mobile. And yes, it is fugly.

The R34 is a ripper - I still have one (a 4 door tiptronic turbo) and they are great. Mechanically pretty unburstable, fast enough and a whole lot of fun. Some doubtful detail finishing on some, but basically a great bit of kit. Not beautiful, but shows its purpose clearly I believe. People get out of the way on the expressways here when you roar up behind them (also coz the Police have more than a few unmarked ones ).

Skyline as a model range includes 2 and 4 door versions. The GTR is only a 2 door version, although Nissan Subsidary Autech fitted the GTR drivetrain to a 4 door limited edition version, and also to the Stagea estate car.
