Mike, there are plenty of threads on Accord type R's. Have a butchers on search, there have to be at least half a dozen.

Thumbs up

And I've driven a mates Accord Type R - sounds sooooo sweet in the higher rev ranges. Tend to understeer quite a bit when the Bridgestones have no tread left though!

Cool

Just want to know your opinions - how they drive, what they are like to own, high points, low points etc. How do they compare to Scoobs for example?

Best handling FWD 4 door saloon on the market, performance on a par with standard UK scoobies.

Engine's are bullit proof, known weak spots are the synchro on 5th gear can crunch and some owners have reported front wheel bearings going and not much else.

Owned one for the last 8 months and no problems and stil get out with a rather large grin.

Had a black one couple of years ago, never driven a fwd like it. Nice steering, brakes, amazing grip even in the wet within reason. The reason you buy a TYPE R is the engine, once you've heard the engine on full song you'll never drive it slow again. And thats the problem with them, put it in the vtec zone (and you have to because there's absolutely no torque) and you will lose your license sharpish. Also, when you rev the hell out of it each gearchange will drop you just outside the vtec zone which can be quite annoying. This car definately needs 6 gears. Still it will put a smile on your face when you are in the mood, it's just that you have to be in the mood everytime you drive it

Hi Telboy

I have done a search or two but not found anything in huge depth. If you can point me toward some specific threads that would be great.

Thanks mate
