Honda Racing Type R

Has anyone driven one of these that Litchfield Imports are starting to bring in??
Saw one at the MLR track day and it seemed to be lapping darn quick.. and for a Honda actually looked quite nice and as a weekend car looks quite fun...
Thoughts??

Haven't driven it yet (come on Litcho ) but for the money, even in road trim, you got to take a serious look.
200+bhp in probably the best handling FWD of recent times, in something that doesn't weigh too much and actually looks nice as well ? Sounds right to me.

I got taken round at Castel Coombe in this, and I tell you not a lot passed it!
Even big BHP Evo's were not too far ahead after 10 mins!
This would shame some evo's and sti's !

I know Type-R (Matt) has been in one, and he posted about it a while back, may be worth having a look at that thread.
Looks amazing, seems damn quick, and is a step up from a current type-r (like mine ), so should be very capable.
Nice iVTEC too, lots more torque, and quite a few mods from Mugen available already (Ecu, induction, exhaust etc) but not cheap bits!!
Id say for the money, there's not much new that can compete, looks, quality, or performance.

Stu,
Yes and No... right shape wrong spec.. the racing is the stripped out version and a lot less cash but without the luxury...
Thinking it will make ideal weekend/trackday car as a replacement for my Evo6...

Anyone konw what sort of mods can be done to these to up the power and wether the FWD will be able to cope with an increase in power? Also does anyone know anything about Vtec controllers as I definately think what these cars need is for the vtec zone to be lowered as the "fun zone" is less than 2000 rev band as standard.

I have not got the Evo yet, and will probably not either.
How did I do it, well I am 30 and earn twice as much as I did a few years ago and have a tiny mortgage. That does not mean I earn loads, just that I earnt **** money a few years ago!

Davyboy as hit the nail on the head.
You are far better spending £1500 on some decent suspension than £1500 trying to improve the BHP, which is what I would have done had I bought one rather than my other projects .
The new Teg has enough power IMHO, anymore and you will ruin what is nearly a perfect FWD car.
