Test drove a Supra TT at the weekend, because I am looking for a 500 Bhp platform. To tell the truth my modified STiV would have murdered it below a ton.

Anyone else had any experience with em.

Cheers,

Joules

I've driven a Supra TT import a few times, the thing is the Impreza and the Supra are both weapons in their own right, the Impreza to 60 and the Supra for obscene rolling acceleration. The Supra, Skyline, 300ZX, Mitsi GTO etc are essentially Tokyo highway racers, your'e meant to be doing 80 before you put your foot down anyway, thats the necessity over in Japan. I've raced one in my P1 which is running just over 300bhp. From the lights I absolutely blitzed him, no question about it, but as soon as 90mph crept up on my speedo, out of the corner of my I caught the sight of a Supra pulling away from me like I was sat still. It's a horses for courses sort of thing. Theyr'e 2 different tools. I've seen a 404bhp Escort cossie completely wax one though.

Cool

One of my friends purcahsed a Supra TT, Auto. I must say I was impressed with the power. The 0 - 60 is about 5.1 sec's I think, and it certainly felt like it was.

As the post says above, these things have serious power after 80mph, especially when both turbos are kicking in.

I wouldnt want to attempt one at the lights, unless you are really confident you are pushing lots of beans!

A friend of mine has one. As above kills me on a high speed road, but can't get near me on a twisty one. (Cr@p in the wet with the standard TC)

Skylines - have a look here

Standard Skyline handling is similar to RWD but with amazing launching and cornering grip, when provoked they will oversteer and in the wet can be naughty... Certainly not as easy to drive quickly in the wet as an impreza, but fit a torque controller and all this can be changed, I currently having one made (will cost under £50 I hope), but they are available from HKS for about £500! This allows you to run full time 4*4 to improve wet weather handling etc or fulltime RWD and anything inbetween!

A much easier platform for 500+bhp than the scooby, and much more useable than a Supra!
