Can anyone say they have experienced 500 ponies? What was it like?Unfortunately the fastest car i have been in is my relatives Ferrari Modena which aint much quicker than my present BHP....But then again i cant pull birds in mine..

Yep
Mike's 500+ brake RWD saff, Bruce's 500+ brake 3dr, Monte's 552 brake Escort Cossie, and Martin Hadland's 500+ brake Escort Cossie!!!
All the way to the Nurburgring in Martin's - now that was fun!
So Phil, you building yours yourself? Lob on a T4 8 injector plenum, and set the boost up yourself?

Had the pleasure of a mates 580 bhp R34 Skyline.
The feeling is beyond words, too busy gripping onto the seat to remember much.Due for a ride in his newly installed stroker kit 2.8,should be good for 700+bhp!!!
Best get some nappies ready

Only got ~400 ponies in my skyline, but have driven a 580ish Bhp skyline. Very very very Seriously quick with that power! So a 500bhp cossie will be quick too... Shame yours is Brown ima

Had a passenger ride in the early '80s in a rally-prepared Metro 6R4 with twin Sprintex superchargers - reputedly anything between 750 and 860 bhp depending on outside temp. 0-100 in around 4½ seconds

Ima, you may not be impressed! It depends on who's gonna build it.
Why do you want 500hp anyway? Ok, but you really should ask yourself.
Harvey told me a great metaphor once,"Having a 500+hp engine is like holding on to a hand grenade and you keep flicking the pin."
What's wrong with a proper 400+hp, 400+lbs/ft? On the track there ain't any difference if you can handle a car I assure you AND it will last.
Bottom line is that a Harvey Gibbs 400+hp will easily keep up with so called 500hp engines from other tuners.
Now, if I had the £10k that Harvey asks I would be straight down there and have 550hp and a really flat 460lbs/ft all the way tahnks to Ahmed mapping it on the dyno.
Just jealous if you are using the A-team and concerned if you ain't.
Best of luck though Ima and look forward to hearing about and maybe seeing the results at a track day.
Kind regards
Ben

Were do I start...Crests of hills become sideways moments, hitting a bump while accelerating becomes a brown trouser moment, your brakes never seem powerfull enough, and the rain is really really to be feared.

Light Blues,i got some cash coming and was going for an Escos or Evo etc,but then i thought why?I have a nice Sapphire RWD Cossie sitting in the garage to which i have spent much money,so why not just go the whole way!500 is a magic figure, its only gonna be a road car,so not really much use,but to know i got 500 ponies is just not your average car,do you feel me?
Sieze,i like the sound of that!!!!!Think i will add door bars and a fixed diagonal on the roll cage front...LOL..
To add, that the components will by my choice through several knowledgable peoples advice.....and put together by me,and mapped by a pro,not sure who yet..i currently run a Collins chip and am well impressed over the Ahmed chip i used to run..

Was in a Skyline pulling about 900-920!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Running **** knows what and with a 20sec nos blast, very sweet indeed.
He had it it for about 2years and put 70K on the clock, got about 8mpg. Funnily enough he had some finance probs and ended up selling it for about 20K, done about 40K in mods.
Never had the cash at the time or I would be bragging about MY 900bhp Skyline.
Still suffering whiplash from when he put the foot down

Phil, absolutely. He wasn't one for meets, or BBS, but used to race it occassionally. I think it was some organised amatuer event where any car goes.
I don't know but I'm pretty sure it must have been featured in some magazine or other.
I have the reg and know who bought it, but won't post that info on here. Mail me and I'll let you know.
