BMW 325 - Help!! Problem...
#1
Hi Peeps,
Ive just got hold of a 325 BMW... *for a run around*. Anyway the bizzare thing is the thing will only run for 10 minutes (until it gets warm) then it will cut out. It won't start till the engine has cooled down again.... if you do try and start it again, the engine constantly turns over, and you can hear it trying to start but it wont!! GGggrrrrrrr sooo annoying?
Does anyone know of a BMW Forum at all?
Bloody german technology!! Should stick with Jap cars really! :O)

Sounds like a coolant problem. The advantage with Beemers is that you ring BMW emergency services, they send a BMW technician out, if he can't fix it, he'll take it to a dealer and give you a loan car.

Not sure if its got the same thing as Vauxhalls but it may be the coolant temp sensor.
This tells the ECU when the car is cold/hot and so the ECU knows when to chuck in more fuel i.e. like a choke does on a carbed car.
If it reads cold when its hot then it chucks in too much fuel and stalls the car thru flooding.

Cheers lads! for all your help!
And it seems that my immobiliser was at fault. If I leave the car for 10 mins, the immobiliser must reset or something .... I thought it was TEMP related!
Oh well! bloody immobiliser!
Thanks again.,
