What can be done to an Integra Type-R (old shape)? Other than photoshopping a new engine in there!
HKS can offer, exhaust, manifolds, induction kits, turbo chargers (), fuelling/VTEC Computers, etc. Have a I missed anything, or other tuners who can do things to them?

Andy,
Same with most of the Type R's, not a lot of gains for what we would call "the usual" stuff. Some of the latter cars actually loose power if you mess with them
I know you can get a replacement ECU (Mugen ?) and some good exhaust systems for them, but that is where my knowledge ends.
Matt (Type R) who posts here knows a lot more about these cars (especially the Civic) and he also would be able to tell you about what Richard at Steels (Honda) in Hereford did to his old shape Integra. Might have involved an engine swap though (IIRC).
Cheers

basically there are very few options for realistic money. On the other hand the car is pretty much sorted in terms of power against handling and is enormously capable; most folk wont get 100% from a standard ITR on a track and mods tend to be restricted to brakes, uprated suspension and a pipe & filter. If you're after huge increases in straight line speed, then you should be looking somewhere else. But no doubt you know this already.
Tuning - check out http://www.mardigras.co.uk/
they raced a couple of intergras in national saloons or production tourers (cant remember which) a few years back, and are the boys when it comes to hondas. A few tweaks with the geometry on my old ITR transformed it...

I'm just looking at my options for cars that aren't Subarus!
I've done the old shape thing! I don't like the new shape. Foresters aren't really where I want to be right now. The Legacys I like are *far* to expensive to insure (Evo money for me!)
Although watching the Fast and the Furious again this weekend didn't help!

Ah! There she is. I know how attached everyone is to there own car, but this one was slightly special. Full options list, tracker, top end Clifford, my initials on the reg - destiny. Well until I took a trip to Goodwood.
You may be amazed to find out that after a 6 month battle I got what can only be considered as a hansom pay out and hence the scooby.
Great cars the Tegras, different but great. Infact I was out with a fella at the weekend who has one, my WRX had nothing on him beleive me. I had forgotten how good they were having not been in one for 10 months.
If you need any pointers or whatever, let me know

LOL, just my trusty mk2 8v big bumper (better than 16v IMHO) has done me proud! A means to an end (it allowed me to buy the house I wanted!)
Although after having 350-odd bhp Subaru, I want more! But I don't want a Subaru again (at the moment)

I'm looking at my options, although insurance may be a deciding factor:
MY99 Integra (£10k) - £1200
MY99 BMW M Coupe (£20k) - £700!!!
MY02 Civic Type R (£16k) - £750
MY02 Seat Leon Cupra (£17k) - £775 (not the R version!)
MY02 Skoda Octavia RS (£15.5k) - £700
MY99 Subaru Impreza Turbo (UK £12k) - £650
MY91 VW Golf GTI 8V - £500!! (£3k inc mods)
354bhp (fully declared) MY99 UK Impreza (£35k) - £1200!
I think that puts a few things in perspective!

With my experience, with the Type R, exhaust system is a must for the sounds, but other than that go for Coilovers, makes a massive difference. The air filter loses BHP, low down but bumps it up higher up, but the rev Limit will cut in before you hit max BHP, at least it did with my CTR.
I have just bought an Apexi Power FC, 9100 Rev Limit , which will add 5-10BHP, and engagement point will be 5300RPM.
You certainly won't be dissapointed.

Andy,
If you go for a 'teg you won't be dissapointed!
Stay clear of White cars from Honda UK , unless you are sure they are not ex Jonathan Palmer cars
Phone Admiral for insurance....way cheaper that ANYONE else.
MY00 Teg, £1200 with Direct line, £650 with Admiral.
As for mods, usual exhaust, induction can be done, but as said, be careful as you can actually loose power.
To be honest, the cars are so good as standard. Induction noise is awesome with standard kit.
If I'd kept mine, I'd have gone exhaust route only, and then just for the noise, really. Maybe tyre change for more traction in the wet.

Thanks for the info!
I was only looking at black or red cars, with air con, so no worries about the Jonathan Palmer thingy!
The quote from Admiral was £800, which is more do-able than £1200!!
Just need to get a job now!

Honda-R Forum Thread on the topic
I expect none of them had air con (which I *want*) And to check the servicing history I guess!

An MX-5 is all well and good for a normal size Chinese person, me on the other hand (as I'm sure any of the people who have met me will vouch!) I'm far too fat to fit one without looking like a goldfish that has out grown it's bowl!!!

Reminds me I saw a very clean looking white Integra today, and it's only car I've talked about recently that I still want!!
It's a step in the right direction for me!! My girlfriend is sick of me talking *at* her about possible cars!!! Some people are only excited about getting a Ford Ka!!!

It was me who requested a song for the Cheesily Chart Challenge on Mark & Lard's show.
J-Lo's split from her hubby: Didn't Like You Very Much When I Met You by The Wonderstuff!
I was at Bolney selling NF booster from the boost of my Golf, but I wasn't at Hickstead.
It sounds like Alan Tang who was at Hickstead and in Japanese Performance, as he owns Pow:R

Andy here's some pictures of that awesome Teg at the Bolney meet.
I took them, seems they have found their way onto DJDunks website, so these are from Dunk's site as I've removed them from mine
What a corker
