So after many years tinkering with cars one thing has become an apparent trend with a lot of modern cars; they all share someone else's engine. With the exception of Germans, it can be anyones guess at who made the engine lurking under the bonnet. I thought you were safe with Toyota, but no, the GT86 is a Subaru 
So today I start the guessing game with this Jeep in the image attached below:
Jeep are Chrysler, which in turn were part of Mercedes, and then sold to Fiat. So the odds on it having a Chrysler/Merc/Fiat engine are high.
Go on take a guess. I won't say which year or model as you'll find it on google, but let's just say I blurted out WTF when I removed the engine cover

So today I start the guessing game with this Jeep in the image attached below:

Well yes...but I'll go a step further....which VW engine... as there is no reference to a "worldwide engine" (except the marine versions, which it ain't) 
Why in the hell Chrysler decided to use it is anyone's guess, at least they could have made it work with VAG-COM (would have made my job a bit easier
)

yeah PD 16valve (BKD) , not CR
So anyone know what "CRD" stands for, because it definitely isn't common rail
