I'm looking at builing a cheap track car and don't know wether to go down the evo route. I only want a sensible 500bhp and I'm not bothered if the car looks like a piece of crap. I know what to do with subarus but is it time to change to an evo? Both versions come in between £6-8k on the models I'm looking at.
But which would be the cheapest best option for a sprint car ?
My missus face dropped when I showed her another car I would buy . I think she is scared it will be my only car but to be honest I can't suffer just an evo or Subaru as an only car

I have a very clean and original 99 RA 555 Wrc limited that I'm considering selling (still not sure really) , even has the original factory fitted 22b front bumper

As a sprint/track car I would say the Evo, Power levels aside the Evo is a much better handling car and will need less spent on it to get it to go round corners faster then the Subaru, Having owned 400bhp Evo 6 and classic STi's I would say in a straight line the Subaru would be much quicker but a track car is not about straight lines so my personal choice would be the Evo for the track!!!
I have is I decide not to sell them. Mine is even a DCCD box and an ej22 engine
I've owned both an STI RA and an Evo 5 running similar power. The Evo 5 was the superior car in terms of the way it handled and felt quicker due to the way it spooled....The Evo looks rock'ard too!
Its running MOT'd just need final mapping off Andy a little wiring tweek off john Stevenson and its good to go, but finding the spare time to get these things done is very hard as work has gone manic as they say got to make hay whilst the sun shines LOL if I can get the car sorted this month its all booked in for the 22B sprint at croft .
Banny , you do them up get sick and sell them 3 months later then Start again I will keep mine for a while . I bet you must of spent some wedge over the years on all your imprezas
