Default Nissan R32 GTR Swap?

So I've had an itch for an R32 GTR for a while now and although ive just got back in an STI (Widetrack) I still find myself browsing the classifieds for something a little special. The other day a R32 GTR popped up around the 10k mark with a FSH whilst in the UK and only 1 owner since imported in 2013. The car has not been messed with, only a recent new set of Rota's wheels and tires have been added.

Spec,

New 18 inch rota style alloys. New hankook evo 12 r tyres r33 4 pot brembo brakes with new drilled vented discs allround blue stuff ebc pads
340HP, 267ft/lb at the fly
302HP, 246ft/lb at the wheels

Imported August 2013
MOT till 26/07/2015 - no advisories.
First owner in UK

ENGINE COMPRESSION
(done March 2015)
Dry (PSI):
1: 159
2: 158
3: 158
4: 159
5: 157
6: 163
Wet (2 drops of oil):
1: 162
2: 159
3: 167
4: 161
5: 163
6: 163

When imported, it was:
- fully undersealed
- 4 wheel laser aligned
- timing belt change
- Serviced: oil, oil filter, spark plugs

Since owning the car I have:
- Rewired one of the AFM
- Replaced coilpacks (for OEM ones)
- Cleaned out the AAC valve (idles nicely at 1000rpm)
- Wired in a 4WD/RWD switch
- Fitted auto side mirror fold module

SERVICE HISTORY
Current mileage: 105000
- 89600 (when imported - service items as above)
- 95600 (service by garage(SVA) - oil, oil filter)
- 102000 (serviced myself - Nissan oil filter, Fuchs racing titan pro oil, greddy magnetic sump plug)

MODIFICATIONS
Powertrain:
- Apexi powerflow air filters
- Baffled twin turbo pipe
- Greddy(Trust) down pipe (have original downpipe)
- 5zigen exhaust
- Decat (have original catalytic converter)
- Nismo clutch slave cylinder
- Deatschwerks 200 fuel pump
- Z32 Fuel filter

HANDLING
- Nismo coilovers
- Nismo front strut brace

VISUAL
- Nismo front bonnet lip
- Nismo rear spoiler lip
- Nismo rear spats

INTERIOR
- Nismo drivers seat (rarer one of the 2 available for this car)
- Nismo gear ****
- Nismo boost gauge
- Momo steering wheel

I'm now in contact with the owner who might be up for a swap with cash my way. My question is, are there any issues with these cars I should look for outside the ad? I know the R33 has rust issues on the struts but don't believe the 32's had the same issue.

Am very tempted...just looking for any personal experiences.

Cheers.

Yeah it does, the owner is actually a dealer from what he has told me. He's offering a potential straight swap for my 39k mile FSH widetrack. I'm sure mine is worth a little more though. Already asked about cash my way and he wasn't interested.

Check Synchros are ok, they rust round the rear arches, rear wheel steering can be a bit dodgy on undulating roads.

I had one years ago and loved it. I did have an R33 GTR a few years after and it was a better drive, not a patch on the looks of the R32 for me though. They really need the vents in the front bumper IMO, completes the look.

Very different drive to an Impreza though, more high speed cruiser than back road blaster.

I think you'll regret it after the first 10mins, also 39k widetrack for 105k Nissan doesn't sound much like a deal I'd want to do.

But hey it's your money so fill yer boots.

Decided against it, want to go down the 2.35 route and enter some hill climbs and sprints next year.

You must like spending money, why spunk a load of cash on a rebuild you don't need

I'd just enter a few to get a feel for it and see what you're up against instead of jumping in blind with a car that owes you a small fortune.

Start the process by going for an MSA Licence training day at Curborough down the road in Litchfield and take it from there.

There's a mint refurbished standard R32 v spec 2 AWD with low milage on Pistonheads which is being sold by a specialist. £25k.... Defiantly a collectors car though.
