My new (to me) family car
I've been looking for a family car for some time to replace my BMW 5 series, and I've finally found something I like It ticks all my boxes, in that it's got at least 4 doors, a reasonably sized boot, a bit of poke and decent handling.
It's an evo 7 rs - basically a slightly lighter weight Evo 7 without the AYC diff. It's completely rust free underneath as well, and is obviously being undersealed.
Should be with me in a couple of weeks - can't wait!

Hehe, unfortunately she's too smart to see through it

DCY Imports (very well respected importer) in York have another one in stock here: http://www.japaneseimportspecialists...shire/15749257
It was totally out of my budget to be honest, I was looking to pick up a 7-8k Evo6 GSR, but then I unfortunately saw the 6 and 7 side by side, and the 7 just looks a bit more modern IMO, and as a day to day car it just felt that little bit bigger (not sure if this is actually the case, mind).

It's arrived!
First impressions are very good - it looks fantastic in white, and it drives really well. The coil overs are firm, but not _too_ firm, like the ones I have on the impreza, so perfectly usable day to day.
It's running about 1.5 bar of boost, and judging by others with similar boost it should be somewhere in the region of 340-360bhp, and the twin scroll turbo gives it decent pull from fairly low down as well. The twin plate clutch will take some getting used to, but it's honestly not too bad.
The cabin is fairly noisy, as expected, with the low ratio gearbox and lack of sound deadening, but at least the car has been significantly updated in terms of comforts compared to a bare spec RS. It has air con, electric windows and a rear windscreen wiper - a lack of air con and electric windows would probably have pushed my Mrs over the edge, but for now she's tolerating it.
Already had comments from the neighbours about the asbo car
Driving-wise, I'm not sure if it's faster than the impreza, given that i have to change gears all the time, compared to the fairly lazy long impreza box, but it definitely feels like it's got some potential once I get used to it

Hi,
Looks great - need a rear shot to see the exhaust!
Did the RS versions of these have very thin or even plastic windows? - to save weight.
Cheers
