Well actually it's the new pub roller skate / shopping trolly / skip for the Mrs.

Well I've lost the add, probably because it's been sold and sat on my drive, so this one looks the same except mine has 52k is an 05 and I paid £640

Nah it's me that loves them
, cheap to buy and cheap and easy to fix, although this one doesn't pull quite as well as the 25 with 108k on the clock believe it or not, I'm going to pull the engine out of it before I scrap it and stick it in my shed just in case as it's still going strong, 320 mile round trip to get the new one and never missed a beat.
This one has had the HG, rad, water pump and belts done because it was using water, a new battery too, caned it a bit on the last 10 miles on the way back and it made it fine, just a bit of brake judder at high speed, I'll give it some fresh oil tomorrow and take it for a spanking, to see if I can break it before I go back to Croatia.

I really like the look of this one, really nice in the flesh and the seats hug well too, they really are very hard to beat for the money and it gets over 40mpg, despite what people say they handle reasonably well and once they are moving perform well against much more powerful machines, and for £640 who gives a ****.

If your decent with spanners then no reason not to, although the bigger engines are slightly more complicated from what I've read. Personally if I were after that sort of car it would be an MX5 or MR2 simply because both are pretty bullet proof and not a great deal more money.
I buy these 25's because they are cheap and practical, my Mrs bounces them up curbs and generally doesn't care about or for cars beyond the once a month local immigrant car wash, rest of the time it's wet dog, muddy boots/bikes and tip runs, and as above the 1.4 averages 40mpg while still being reasonably nippy around town and neither of us do more than 80mph ish on motorways so it's plenty capable enough and they look decent and cost peanuts.
I've tried putting her in a nice car twice now and it's just not fair to her or the car.

No, don't even think about it, especialy the later ones; the way they bodged the front suspension to remove the hydragas makes it impossible to replace the front lower arms without removing the whole subframe....a wear and tear item.
That, the HG and the PeKtron relays should be enough to warn you away. You have been warned (Although I can repair faulty Pektron units
).
The 25/ZR is a doddle to work on, which makes it a good banger. The TF, 45 V6, and 75CDTi/V6 are not.
