Porsche Boxter
I am debating whether to get a 2004-2005 Boxter just as a fun car for the misses.
Is there anything I should look out for? Are they crap? etc
Cheers

I bought my wife a 2003 3,2s about 2 years ago.its only used in summer months and had no issues at all,its only done 30,000 miles, and she is well happy with it,I have heard there is a massive difference between the boxster and boxster s.
at the end of the day its an affordable Porsche in my opinion

They just look a bit tired these days and don't go all that well unlike recent models.
I'd look at the S2K, mk3 MR2 (SO good for handling) or even a decent engined SLK. MX5 is worth a look too - proper drivers car, decent VFM, bullet proof, hasn't aged over the years.

My wife drives a 3.2s boxster, she loves it.
She has had it three years and a previous one two years.
I tend to give it a full service once a year, though it only does about 5k a year.
Other than tyres l can't remember replacing anything else.
I have driven them both and have found them really nice cars, felt nice and solid no rattles they are quick and carry lots of speed around corners.
Anything after 2003 comes with a proper glass back window as the earlier ones had a plastic one which were poor.
I have offered to replace it but she won't, in my opinion they are a good car, would suggest buying on mileage and service history opposed to year.
Also being picky l would go for heated seats and parking sensors are useful as they can be difficult to park.
Hope this helps

I wouldn't touch one with your barge pole - gheyers car for sure, 'for the wife'.....
Joking aside, read this -

I have seen them advertised for as little as £4k which surprised me so I had a little look into them as my best mate was thinking about one to scratch the Porsche itch, but a little research revealed that they are a mine field and he was soon put off as was I, so he's going to get another S2000 in the spring and we should be off to Monza and the Ring for some summer fun, where I get to scare the crap out of him in his own car.

Anyone that mentions hairdressers, gayers (except zip who has one) or poor mans Porsche is a cretin with no idea about cars.
The current range is stunning but the list prices have started to go slightly crazy.
I'd have one in a heartbeat if I didn't need back seats and a proper boot.
N/A, proper box, engine in the right place.

Have you driven, owned and run both cars back to back? No, I didn't think so whereas I have so whose opinion is likely to be more valid. Oh yes sorry I forgot you are a fecking genius that can use any camera put in your hands to 100% of its ability without even reading the manual.
Remember that little exchange? The one when you came across as a self important know-it-all ****? Seems you haven't learned. Now **** off and find something to write about that you actually know about .... I fear it will be a long wait

My mate has a 2.7 thats done almost 160k with no major issues. Has a few rattles and squeaks but feels solid otherwise. Surprising amount of boot space in the front. Indie he takes it to has a couple that are still going after 200k +.
