A friend has a 2012 one, nothing but trouble - same engine as the 1.6 Mini Cooper I believe which has stretch issues on the timing chain, except BMW acknowledge the issue whereas Citroen pretend it doesn't exist.
Boot lifters failed once, nearly killing him whilst unloading shopping
Various bits of chrome on the exterior is bubbling/rotting - he's a DIY detailer too, so car is rarely dirty for long.
Finish on the wheels is also poor, and bubbling in places.

Ive got one as my daily ,, went for it for the mpg on the diesel hdi version ,, had it since new and not a single fault ,,, i went for the top spec d sport plus so its got full leather and connectivity etc ,,, cant say enough good things about the car tbh
Petrol turbo ones are known to be problematic ,,, http://www.ds3club.co.uk/forum.phpthe ds3 forum is a good place to read up and as stated the engines do suffer stretched timing chain issues ,,, if its under warranty these seem largely to get dealt with but therell always be the odd horror story about dealers and its bound to reflect 2nd hand values when out of warranty
Go for the hdi diesel with six speed ,,, epic handling and loads of fun
