Default My new M4

Hi,

It's been 10 years since I sold my last Scooby (V6 Type-R Ltd) and since then I've had a 350Z, B7 RS4 Saloon, and up until a few days ago my 2012 M3 with Competition pack which was awesome.

Anyway I ordered this beasty back in Aug as a factory build but also added some front end parts - black grill, CF side blades and front lip spoiler.
Really pleased with it so far..

Nick

Strange comment as the m3 is a two door car, I know they did some 4 doors but that would look nothing like the above and more like a normal 3 series

Where have you been living for the last year - North Korea?

The new M3 is a four door, that one ^^ is the M4, which is 2 door.

Edit - I think we're at cross purposes here.
You mean the new M4 looks like the old M3, yes?

Well, I kind of agree.

I think we've established that we've been talking about different cars!

This is the only M3 that matters...

Thanks guys.
Yes i'll keep you posted and once I've bedded in I'll write an update.

Zip yes mate I had Santorini M3 before this. That was a great car and took me to the 'ring and back twice.

RS4 was great but not so good for fun factor. It was simply too nice and too heavy to throw around. The shocks are a weak point on those cars so I would recommend finding one with suspension upgrade and that should transform it.
Engine power output is also questionable as there are apparent 'coking of valves' issues..

Nick

PS I do know the M4 will be amazing as I had an 24 hr test drive in the local demo car.
They fly! Max torque is between 1800-5500rpm.
A lot different to the E92.

Cheers mate.

I was expecting to get flamed on this forum for posting an M4, but thought it would be ok in Other Marques.

My Alpina was Santorini - great colour and very unusual.
The YMB looks great, especially in the sun.

Without wishing to sound too stupid, what have BMW done to the naming conventions with their cars

Is there a 4 series now

The car does look stunning, and as I said fantastic colour - what other "alternative" colours do they come in?

How can you get flamed for buying an out of the box excellent car . If I had that the urge to map it once they sort one would overwhelm me .

It has to be a fecking fun once mapped considering it's just a nice car.

The 3 series coupe is now called the 4 series.
The 3 series saloon is still called the 3 series.
Much in line with Audi naming their A4 coupe as an A5.

Other colours available on the M3/4 are grey, black, white, mineral white (metallic), and Sakhir orange (which isn't really orange).
Can also pay extra for a few Individual colours that are slightly different to the above.

Ah ok, a doors thing then

Hopefully they did not do a Z4 M car

The haven't done a 4 door M series for a while have they?

Mmm just googled the Orange - no thanks, would be better with a flat orange like the blue

wow. that is gorgeous!! I've just seen "prices start at 57k" that must mean you've had a decent job for the last decade since being a poor scooby boy!

Congrats and enjoy

The blue isn't like a flat orange it's metallic.

BMW made some of the previous M3's with 4 doors - quite rare to find one though.

And they did make a Z4M... 2 doors, you see...

I wanted ours to be the orange - until I saw it in the metal.
It's more a burnt red, whereas I was hoping it was more orange akin to my Exige.
Opted for the blue.
