Focus ST-2 2006
Hi Folks
I have an issue with my 06 Focus ST-2, A while ago I noticed that on hard acceleration the power was suddenly cutting off, this didn't happen all the time but was as time went on it got worse, happening more often and at lower speeds. I did some research and was advised to change the battery, well I simply charged the battery and all was well.... For a while then after a few weeks it started again, so I thought it could be the battery and fitted a new one, this cured it again .... For a while and it's started again, I did notice this morning on the drive home from work that when I accelerated and the boost kicked in it suddenly it shot up into the red and stayed there (although there was no turbo power) until I slowed to around 20 mph then it dropped to zero and stayed there until the engine was switched off and the whole process started again. I have been told that the alternator could be not giving enough power and so causing electrical issues?? Could this be the case or is there something else more likely??
Has anyone had this issue before ??
Cheers Darb

I had a ST2 on a 57 plate & the alternator went on it while under warranty. The guy at Ford garage seemed to think it was a fairly common fault.
