New car incoming, old car out going.
Well i've finally done it, I have decided after quite a few years of Subaru ownership to move away from the marque until they come up with something that I can enjoy as much as I did with the Spec C, so my little fleet of 3 cars is going down to 2 and i've got my order in for a new "beast" and a hairdressers kit to go with it
So what made me want to change from my Subaru and why did I not go for the BRZ or the new STI?
Simple, the BRZ ticked most of the boxes, well priced, 2ltr, handles very well, its a Subaru but....
There is a better coupe out there and I owned one of its lesser brothers already, and I liked it (plus the fuel economy was great considering its a petrol and its comfy).
Its not perfect but i could live with that.
So why not the new STI?
Its got the 2.5ltr engine, the old one, it may have a warranty but the co2, road tax, overall running costs will be higher than the car I am buying, and the combined mpg is 27!! mpg, 27??!!! my new car gets 33 around town and the combined is just under 45mpg!
Ok, im getting old, i like comfort, don't want my fillings bouncing out, like a quieter interior with some more refinements, hence my new car is...
A Peugeot RCZ R.
1.6ltr fully forged engine, 55mpg @ 56mph, 270bhp!! fully loaded, 380mm Alcon brakes, 19 inch wheels and a host of other bits (especially the seats, god they are comfy), its low euro 6 emissions of 145 g/km rather than 242 g/km and its fun to drive not crashy on our averagely bad roads, its got the power when you need it and i can get the hairdressers pack in the boot ok
I would have loved a new Subaru but they need to do something more than what they have now, i will probably be back but for now its back to Peugeot and their flagship RCZ model for a few years

all joking aside they look like a great alternative, see a normal RCZ parked up everyday down the road and I think it looks great! +1 for those brakes too!

It looks back to front in an interesting sort of way.
Interestingly after 10 years of soot burning ive just bought another scoob
an outback H6, i wanted a 4x4, but nothing i could find fitted the bill,
Originally i was after a Forester, but they were a bit thin on the ground in
the spec i wanted, then the Outback came along.

They probably couldn't afford an Audi, or didn't want to be branded a ******, so didn't want an Audi.

I like it, think they look pretty cool, different too which in this day and age is great
it maybe French - but at least it is not a Renault
And every one knows gays have great taste

Is it really fully forged.??
Heck of lot power from 1.6. Isn't it

It is a lot of power from a 1.6, consider that people forge these 1.6's in the mini world and push 400+ from them, its a BMW/PSA engine so pretty good
Couldn't you have waited for the 308 R, far more heterosexual
Every time I see one of these (not very often) I always think why didn't they just buy an Audi TT? I admit I know nothing about these cars but being a Peugeot just puts me off!
1. Its a better looking car than the TT and is more individual with better kit as standard.
2.You don't instantly get branded as a boring w@nker
Its also not built in France, its built by Magna Styer in Austria

Yup as a TT, not the more powerful TTS but the 211bhp TT (which is less fuel efficient, bigger engine, higher tax etc).
The TTS actually costs more, heavier and has about 5bhp more from its 2ltr engine, still a fair bit thirstier and the 19 inch wheels are only an option and not standard (and the brakes are dinky compared to the RCZ R).
