Where can I get my wrx a performance upgrade?
Hi guys, I have just bought myself a 02 WRX totally standard car, I am looking to get it re-mapped etc getting it up to around 270/280 break ish. Any ideas where to take it, what to get done and the cost? I don't really want to be spending loads of money straight away but I know it will be a few hundred!
Any help and advice will be much appreciated, cheers. Russ.

to get that power you'll prob need a sports cat or de cat , centre section and back box and fuel pump, depending where you live depends on who to map it , i run a garage in stockport and use Andy Carr to map mine and my customers

Am in the same boat for an 05 WRX mate and have been reading up on it for a couple of months now to make sure I get it right! As RS74 says, you'll need a sports cat or de cat (depending on whether you want to keep it MOT friendly, but the difference in BHP is fairly minimal apparantly), centre section and back box. I've heard that the fuel pump should be fine for the 280-290 that you're looking at though so this may not be needed.
If you are buying new, you are looking at anywhere between £500-£750 for the exhaust system, then around £400 for the remap. Alternatively, keep an eye out for a good second hand exhaust system if you want to keep the cost down.
Where abouts are you?
