i've already posted this in the wanted section but thought i'd try my luck in here.
i need a 3" turbo back exhaust system for my car so i can finally get over 400bhp (stuck on 382
)
i currently have a 3" bellmouth down pipe dropping to 2.5" then back to 3" at the back box with a 4.5" tail. (possibly swap or will be selling) my current system sounds great but just blocks the turbo so it has to go.
if anyone has anything please pm me. i'm based in north manchester and am going on the tunnel run this sunday so if anyone is interested in a swap then you can have a listen. i'm not after something extremely loud.
thanks

I have the similar thing on my car aswell. I got 3" downpipe to 3" centre section narrowed down to 2.5" to mate up the back box...
are get getting another remap done once you got the full 3"? or your current map will able to cope?

my mapping needs finishing when it's fitted as i'm having some other issues as well, i know 382bhp is not bad but if you knew how much money i have spent you would understand why i'm not overjoyed.
i'm still trying to get my head round the exhaust 1/2 inch making so much difference.

I have seem ppl running partially 2.5" system producing something like 420 bhp. but I do have a friend running a V5 STi Type R was limited to 389 bhp due to the HKS slient Hi-power system, I have no idea on the size of the pipe work tho. now his is running 424 with the new H&S 3" centre back.
I can PM you his E-mail if u would like to get more info from him. infact he might be down for the tunnel run on the 7th this sunday.
to be honest 382 is extremely good and I can't see much of a difference between them in speed maybe a tiny second different?? with that sort of power I can't much of things gets on your way?

yes jap i have seen that too apparently its on the newage engines running vvt heads (i have v4sti heads).
i've just ordered a full 3" system for mine as i now need it by thurs (i think) i can't get my head round the fact that 1/2" is costing me in excess of 40bhp !
i think the middle where i have 2 1/2" is where it clogs up, on full boost in 4th 5th and 6th i'm getting a constant 0.1bar boost surge all the time on both my maps which becomes worse the hotter the car gets.
with regards to my 382bhp i'm running a 2.1 forged cdb and a big turbo etc so it should be nearer your mates type r.
just cost me another £400 odd pounds so fingers crossed !

got my exhaust fitted and the car is now finished with mapping thanks to jgm, it's been a right pain in the neck.
on the brighter side i should finally be around my power goal ! (need a dyno to confirm)
as per my initial post i was looking for a 3"exhaust
well due to time restraints i had to buy a new one, just wanted to let anyone know if you need a new exhaust have a look at cobra - they are made by exhausts uk. i got a full de-cat turbo back 3" system including all nuts/bolts/gaskets etc fits perfectly and next day delivery all for £420.00.
they advertise in the trader section make sure you talk to matt.
roll on the tunnel run !!
