Anyone in Hull/Beverley/York area?
Going to be moving up to East Riding in a few months and coming up next month to have a look at the area (and the roads). Can anyone from the area what the Scooby scene is like up there: are there (m)any Shell garages, any good independent specialists and any regular meets?

You know what?
I just typed up a big long reply to your post and it didn't upload!!
I'm in a huff now and can't be arsed to type it all again.
The shortened version is:
Yes there are quite a few of us.
Yes there are a few Shell Stations.
Elvington has an airfield for trackdays and the Shootout.
Another drag strip in the same area.
There are Hull Scoobs and York Scoobs.
The roads are good.......but watch out for men in high vis vests, holding cameras!! Very popular motorbiking roads between York and Scarborough/Brid.......plod/council have taken to putting the wee vans at the side of the road on long straight (fast) sections......oh yeah, they always seem to be slightly.....erm...hidden from plain view!!
Edited to add:.....Oh yeah.....and RE Motorsports have set up in Elvington. Rick has a very good reputation with the local people as a good independent specialist.

Plenty to see and do around these parts, only a few miles from the coast, coupled with some amazing scenery. You wouldn`t wish to live anywhere else.
So, make yourself known. You`ll be made more than welcome

Thanks for all the replies. Not sure where we're going to be living yet ... somewhere in driving distance of Hull but hopefully out in the country and above sea level! Coming up next month to check out the area so, if you see a blue spec C, give me a wave. Hopefully will get to meet some of you in the future.
