This trip has been on the books since our calendar went live back in January, and now the time is looming where we actually have to plan the event. There a lots of resources to help you plan a trip to the Nurburgring:
http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/
http://www.northloop.co.uk/
and the official site of the ring itself: http://www.nuerburgring.de/
After reading through all that lot, it seems that there are a few givens when planning a trip:
1/ we're not camping, so accomodation will be around 60 euros a night for a twin room
2/ the petrol there and back will be the biggest cost of the trip.
3/ it's over 500 miles from here (stockport) to Nurburgring
4/ you can do that in a 24hour period
5/ to get some good track time in, the weekend of Sat 30th September-thurs 5th October has been chosen as the days to go
After all that,
As an idea of cost, you'll be looking at around £550 to get you and a passenger there, with a room, and a 25 lap ticket. That price would include breakfast, but nothing else. That is not a definative price, it could be more, it could be less, it's just a ballpark figure to work on.
I'm up for this, so I'll start the ball rolling with the list: Non smacs are welcome on this trip to help with cost of accomodation, non drivers are actively encouraged to share costs of fuel

From: Heart of Midlothian FC aka Hearts have the nickname "The Jambo's" - therefore I'm a Jambo too.
I'm gutted to say it but I'm gonna say no to this one.
I'm thinking about giving my next few month's wages to Prosport in return for more bhp and torque though (It's Dr.P's fault!
- got me thinking when he mentioned mods at the NBO
)

IIRC it was approx 530ish miles back from Nurburg to Peak District last time?
I guess you mean the round trip mileage

Had trouble getting past some numpty in a Clio Sport today on the A34 bypass. I'm most embarrased. Took longer than I hoped when he pulled to the inside lane. Got him eventually though.
Is there somebody in particular to contact at Prosport, or can anyone down there help?
Sorry to hijack the thread. Consider my wrist slapped.

I am still interested in this and monitoring the threads. When it is time and costings done I will then have to see how I am fixed.
