Default My Scoob - Update

Right, here we go.............

For those who dont know, basically i blew the engine by snapping a conrod connection bolt on cyl 1 last August.
Have spent the last 6 months with headaches, trials and tribulations and major money spending to get the car somewhere near back on the road.

Brand new STi9 engine gone in along with a VF35, FMIC, Blitz Nur Spec, Headers, Big Brakes, Fuel Pump, ECU Remap, Coilovers, Roll Cage, Gauges galore, Bottom and Top Strut Braces, Fully Stripped Out and lots of other stuff i cant remember.

Its been up in Prosport having a lot done to it after its initial running in period including some oil leaks being fixed and the remap.

Spoke to Pete yesterday and its good news..................

Mapping is complete after both rocker cover gaskets spewing themselves on the rollers, leaking actuator valve etc etc and its running at a very nice 350.8 bhp (unsure on the torque).

Pete is confident that it will be finished Tuesday as all that needs doing is putting all the **** guards back on and a few finishing touches.

I cant wait

Thumbs up

I was in prosport on thursday for my service and they were fiddling with it then (it sounded well ) Pete was telling me about all the oil leaks but at least its nearly sorted now

I used my smacs card for the first time aswell saved £3.50

the 3 and a half quid will go towards some new droplinks as mine are aparently worn there fitting uprated ones - what do these do?

regards

Justin

ok, so it's been off the road because of a broken conrod?

So why all this then?

VF35, FMIC, Blitz Nur Spec, Headers, Big Brakes, Fuel Pump, ECU Remap, Coilovers, Roll Cage, Gauges galore, Bottom and Top Strut Braces, Fully Stripped Out and lots of other stuff i cant remember
How did you get that lot past the missus? Good on you m8, glad it's finally all coming together, will you be in it on thursday?

uprated drop links are beefier and stronger, making the car flex less between the chassis and suspension, thereby increasing control on the cars handling. If it's on the rear, worth looking at getting an uprated anti-roll bar at the same time, give demon tweaks a call, ask for Dave Featherstone, and see if they've any in stock for a my99 (I think yours is a 99 isn't it?)
Then get prosport to do the geometry after fitting that lot. Bill will be about £200 all in, don't quote me, but well worth the extra turn in, and lack of understeer

Lee are you sure its not due at 30,000 as when i bought my car it had just had its 30,000 mile service done and that cost about £330 ?? for that they changed everything and gave it a good going over.

yours could be different being a newer car

Well Ive checked the service history in the drivers Service and Warranty manual...

Its had a 1000 mile service when it was brand new..

its had its 10,000 mile service

and its 20,000 mile service exactly 12 months to the date.. so its due one about now....

it could do with a good going over for piece of mind really...

I just checked the brake pads while I was washing it today.. and they look a little low...He will probably pick up on that when they do the service..

More Money....!!!

Oh well it needs doing...better crack open the piggy bank..lol

£364.19 is what I paid for my service from Prosport back in November. Thats the same service as you Lee at 30k. I actually didn't pay anything, as the garage I bought it off paid for it

Obviously there was no SMACS discount last November, so that would've saved them a few bob

Better uprate your pads if you're going to get them replaced Lee, your going to need it this year

It doesn't take that long to change plates, can be instant if done at a registration office, you then only have to wait for the new plates to be made up.

Although hopefully API wont do what my dealer did, and let my old car go with my plate on it Muppet!
