Similar situation here, a little pressed for time this w/e and the following one. Which means I miss NM6. Craft was threatening another Dales run in October, which is some compensation and will let Mellow show off his "Settle Shimmy".
But I'm up for an orange juice and a natter pretty much any evening except Wed 26.
Tony, I think you covered pretty much everything in just three paras. Must get you as my tutor instead of John F

Errr...... I live just outside Chester, know there are some other Scoobynetters in the area (Moz,Mellow,Nesta,GED,Scoobyebye..etc) and was thinking that we should meet up.
I know that something has been organised in the past....who did that one?
I fancy just meeting up with a few people on Sunday (23rd Sept) now that RallyX is off, maybe go for a spin over the moors (out past Denbigh...towards Llanberis etc) but open to suggestions really.
Maybe just meet for a pint somewhere....out a face to the names on Scoobynet. Go on you know you want to.
Post here...or mail me, I am free Sunday if anyone else wants to meet up.

I have organised some in the past, and MTR does quite a few 'Northern Meet X'.
The format is usually pretty standard - meet up in the morning at a carpark, pub or other large open area. Have a wander round the cars waiting for everyone turn up, then dish out directions/maps for the drive around the type of roads that scoobies love, meeting up again at a pub for a chat and something to eat. Anything from 5 to a hundred cars might turn up.
Sounds pretty simple doesn't it ? The majority of people have no idea how much work is required just to organise even a simple event like the one outlined above. MTR refines this to an artform. These events usually require AT LEAST 4 weeks to organise, plan, and publicise.

Hi
Sorry mate, i'm on nights on Sunday which pretty much rules me out.
If you want to organise something at short notice try a mid week meet for a swift half at a local pub in the next week or two.
If you want to go for a bit of a drive,I'll try and dig out the route from last years North Wales meet or we could just make it up as we go along if it's only a small group, but if you say mid October it gives everyone a bit of notice to sort out a free day .
See you soon
Chris

Try organising a camping weekend, that's even more draining.
I'm up for a meet.
Oi, banshi.....wotcha.....you've already made a pass at my woman, now involving me in more "road banter"
Me and Mike are wanting to come over for a drink and a gab soon !

Hows about we come up with a date in October for a mini meet(10-15 cars), we could use the same route as Chris and I planned for the Christmas meet last year (I'll be buggered if I'm planning another one from scratch again )
If somebody wants to suggest a nice pub to meet up in mid-week I'll try to make it(providing Liverpool aren't playing )
Graham
PS How does Oct 14 sound??
