Hi,

Just looking at planning another Buttertubs run in March.

Who's up for this? I was thinking of the weekend of the 10th March. Does this sound OK.

Boomer,

The more the merrier mate. Oh and the last one was cool but this one will be better, time for a few route changes I think

Jason,

Saturday? Na I'm going to run it on a Sunday

Oh all right then I guess we'll have it on a Saturday. At least we'll avoid the Sunday drivers

MarkF,

Have you changed your Downpipe? What made you buy another one then, could it be that you heard the glorious sound of a full SS system on another car? Hee Hee I still haven't stopped smiling since I had mine fitted

Oh and I'm not sure if 2 bottles of millers makes it pop more, need to conduct more tests, only in the interests of science you understand

Paul Habgood,

please stick a pointer in Midlands section - there may be a few up for it (but it will be a long drive).

I'll be staying in Clitheroe on the Saturday night, so i'll have a chance for a (relative) lie in!!

Paul,

No probs mate, the more the merrier. Just remember to tell your lot to bring their passports and some freebees to barter with

Dales,

Buttertubs is about 20 miles east of Kendal. If thats any good. Or if your geography is really bad the its just off the M6 1 hour north of Manchester

Dave,

That means that its reasonably near Kirkby Lonsdale?

If so, I'm up for it.

Dales

Actually I've just remembered I'm going skiing that weekend. Some other time....

MarkF,

Newbies....Mmmmm fresh meat.... Oops wrong BBS. Yer bring them along, we can bore them silly talking Scoobies. Then deafen them with decated exhausts

Do you want to warn Pete Croney about a mass of orders for DP's.

If I go first, you follow, we'll deafen the whole of Lancs

I did this road on Boxing Day , just hope it's not snowing! (It was open but most of the other roads over the top were impassable)

Watch out for the sheep!

John,

Sorry to hear about the stress. Might be better if you leave Mike at home if you can make this run since both me and MarkF are now running decated exhausts which are LOUD (mine is louder coz Mark's getting old and has made his car quieter so he can hear radio 4 )

Oh and I promised Jason that the run would be on Saturday as he can't make Sunday's. Take a sick day coz its a really good route, 120 miles of good roads.

Hope you can make it.

Cool

Hi,

Can you please send me an e-mail if you're coming so I can work out numbers.

Route will be about 150 miles. Start point will be John Wildings Subaru, Kendal.

Those that e-mail will be provided route details nearer the time.

Oh and this run will be more of a cruise. You lot can do what you want but all I will be doing is driving slowly listening to my exhaust pop and bang

Barry,

The first post says weekend of 10th March but I'm not sure if this has been confirmed.

If it is that weekend I can't make it (booked a cheap flight to Dublin £8 Return )

Cheers,

Ian.

Dave

I may be up for it if I've managed to sort out my brake upgrade by then.

If not I'll be staying home still saving the pennies and doing it myself (I've also just bought a house).

Question

Bugga!

I was thinking that it was on the Sunday, but looking back it seems like Saturday is the choice.

Oh well, Saturday it is then (is it?).

At the moment the run is on the Saturday but that was for Jason's benefit. I need to check with him if he is still going after recent events.

If not then you lot can decide coz I don't mind. I'll probably just find a tunnel and stay there all day (Full SS system ).

I'll be going round the route next weekend so we'll decide then.

Hey Andrew, what brakes are you looking at? I'm hopefully getting DS2000's + braided hoses fitted on Saturday which may help me stop.

See ya all soon.

I bit of advanced planning i admit, but are there any Scooby drivers in the Clitheroe /Blackburn /Burnley /Nelson /Colne /Keighley /Skipton and beyond area who fancy a bit of a convoy from, say, Long Preston (a convergence point) up the A65 to the official meet start?

LP is just a suggestion, in case anyone else knows a more suitable spot (Hellifield to Settle?). We could even hack up via Horton in Ribs to meet up around Hawes rather than going all the way to Kendal (depends on the official route - DaveW?).

What-dya-think?

Jason,

Hope the car is back in time. Fingers crossed for you mate.

Boomer,

Route will pass Hawes so if you want to meet there then it sounds good to me. Plus it will give us a chance to have a drink before the attempt on Buttertubs (only the loudest few will make it )

DaveW,

if the "main route" is going to head down the A684 to Hawes, than can i suggest that we _do_ plan a secondary meet/start there. That way i/we can have a fun cross-country drive in the morning, rather than the M6, to the beginning.

Boomer,

No probs mate. When I go round the route I'll find somewhere in Hawes to stop, unless you know a place already? Needs to have a Pub/Shop/Toilet close by (and yes in that order ).
