I've organised a shootout with Well Lane Turbo Centre in Batley. It will take place
on the Sunday 18th FEB. and will cost £25-
per car. We'll need 25 cars to make it work
and I'm trying to get a tuning magazine
involved.
So if anyone is interested, log in below

hmmmmm tempted.
My UK94 has a "well Lane Turbo" sticker in the rear window I think.
Its had some major re-engineering since then and I've love to know the output from it ~ mainly from a curisoity (sp?) view point.
Can't commit just now, but I'm most tempted.
Off to play in the foot of New York snow

300BHP? Steve.
It's not the power or speed that count's but how quickly you can stop without overshooting your turning ;-). I estimate 315BHP out of my UK now that the leaky BOV has been sorted.
Will try and be there Gary.
A.
On another note, can we get printouts again this time or even better get the graphs on disk, and i'll publish to Topscooby

We should be able to get print-outs, unsure
about a disk though. Are there any other requirements we might need? If anyone has any
ideas let us know.

Oh dear, boys and girls? I think were going on a slanging match again!
Yes I have AP 4 pots on (for the last few months or so)
Power unmodded was 299bhp at Well Lane so after a few mods I expect about 300hp (conservative. Only basics though:
Exhaust
Air filter
Link
Forge internally venting
(and loads of stereo gear to slow it all down again!)
All the above IMHO are a waste of time - the girlfriend reckons the car is slower - but the sound gets on the neighbours nerves - so must be good for something!
See ya all there if it goes ahead - hope it does!

ok folks - I will show up again - can I have the first a.m. slot? - so that I can get the highest readings again ;-) - she likes it nice and cold you know.
- Alex, the files from disk aren't much use - they aren't graphics format - just a text file with a series of numbers (power at the wheels)that are then charted by the software against a figure that the operator inputs for rpm at 60mph....I tried to do something with them in excel but it was a waste of time. Better to get a complete set of printouts - then scan them.
NB craft - can you make sure that the guy operating the dyno sets the 'revs at 60mph figure' for each type of car - as this figure is different for uk, sti, type r etc. due to gearing ??? - also it would be good if they can superimpose the power and torque curves onto one graph - as per dyno.scoobynet.co.uk - the software is the same as Power engineering's so this would make for better comparisons.
oh, and Well Lane's PC had a boot sector virus on it last time which infected all the (bootable) diskettes I took along - ;-)
see you on the day,
Paul W

What happens at these rolling road shootouts? Does each car get allocated a time or is it first come first served?
I'm interested to see what kind of power my MY00 is making as I have fitted the 6"x4" Magnex Backbox and a K&N Panel Filter.

What we have planned is, that places will be
allocated on the day on a first come basis.
Awaiting confirmation of start time but will
probably be between 0900-1000 with around
20 mins (including setting up etc.) on the
rollers.
All scoobs are welcome regardless of engine
mods. as the intention is for fellow enthusiasts to get together to see what their
pride and joy is capable of...

spen,
My My00 with a K+n panel filter showed 234Bhp and 225 Lb torque at well lane last year....
Have now got magnex centre so a reasonable guess of 240 - 245 bhp.
Imho well lane are one of the more longer established and good'old firm' type setups the only thing is its about time the dyno page included Well lane results as at the moment only 'southern R/roads' are used.
m.
Spen ,i'm using std backbox at the mo....but am looking to have a special made up....(if you know what i mean!)

BladeRnnr,
Thanks for your reply. What backbox were/are you running as you don't mention this in your reply?
I am hoping to make this rolling road shootout and so I will probably see you there.
I am currently comptemplating putting a SS Downpipe on (searching this sight seems to suggest SS is the best for turbo spooling up quicker and giving improved torque/sound)when my first service is due at the end of march and then do another rolling road session to see the difference.
