North Wales/Chirstmas meet 10/12/2000
#1
Ok it's on!!
Chris, Andy and myself have been and planned the route today (last time I ride in the back of a scooby at high speed )
Those of you who enjoyed the MTR meets will love this one, Welsh roads and scenery at their best.
The start point will be the MILE END ROUNDABOUT at Oswestry, where the A5 meets the A483. There is a Little Chef/Burgerking here (just for boomer to take a photo) and an Esso station with SUL. We'll be starting at about 10.30am.
If your interested in going could you please post here so we can get enough maps/routes printed up.
Many Thanks
Graham, Chris and Andy
PS Tony, can you still do the flyers?

Looks like i need to come along, if only to expand on my catalogue of bacon buttie pictures
FWIW, the Spreadeagle Hotel in Midhurst (nothing whatsoever to do with Wales, but did provide breakfast this morning) does a fine bacon buttie, although they did need reminding that you have to cut the bread _square_ and not diagonal for best effect!

Only so many Scooby days till XMAS!
Is this a straight out and back in one day? Our last Midlands one was a 2-day camping trip and that only got to Bala / Llanberis / Bangor & Capel Curig!
May be along just to here the new backbox resonating from the hillsides
Well recomended!
Chris

Aw poo. I think I'll miss this one due to family commitments.
Rats, I'll get it over to Wales yet, you see if I don't.
Hope you all have an ace time and buy lots of fudge, rock, slate sculptures etc.

moz.g: Must be a quick blast if you can 'do' North Wales in 2 hours!
Is this with or without queues of argicultural machinery on the A5?
I suppose the next round of fuel protests should be over by then and as it's December there should be less b****y caravans!
Count me in!
chris
Kev/boomer: are we having a midlands convoy up the A5 from Cannock then?

Moz,
Definately count me in on this one, (red MY99 Turbo). If I'm not mistaken, Geezer may also be attendance once we've sorted out the argument about who's car we are going to use!!

Just to let you know the route is being finalised this week, well actually the finishing point is as quite a few people have e-mailed me directly to say they are coming so we have to change it (the original could only take about 20 cars but the views were fantastic)
Keep you updated next week
Graham
PS Tony thanks for sorting the SIDC bit out

Hi all
The route is now finalized and a nice finish point has been found.
Things haven't quite gone to plan as when we went out there on Sunday to sort out a route map,we found the road to our original finish had been washed away.
So a quick rethink and slight change and all is now sorted.
See you on the 10th.
Chris & Graham.

Sure is!!!!
Should have between 30-40 cars as quite a few people have e-mailed or phoned me directly as a result of the SIDC flyers that Tony sent out(thanks again)
