Me and skippy are driving across from the north east newcastle/durham also glen from revolution may be joining us if anyone else would like a steady drive over or meet on the way let us know, the more the merryier and if anyone has any ideas for the meeting place at (approximatly 0830) that is well known and central to us all give or take..

Robert, I'm going down there on Sunday and i'm from around the north lakes. Could meet up at Penrith and go down via the A6? Its a cool road.

I will be heading down the A6 on Sunday morning after getting to Penrith via Alston.
Anyone else going via Alston on Sunday morning from the North East/Northumberland/Hexham area?

 

What about meeting up at the Texaco garage at the Penrith truck stop? Anybody make a suggestion of what time? How about 9.00.

How about meeting at the Beehive pub. Just out of Penrith on the A6 to Kendal. Its got a fair sized car park and is on the way.

Dave, that sounds like a better place to meet and easier to find. For those wanting to join leave the M6 at j40 and turn towards Scotch Corner. At the next roundabout turn right and take the A6 to Kendal. Go through the traffic lights and over the bridge, the pub is about 200 metres on the left.

Our plan is to leave Newcastle A69 junction off A1 towards Hexham at 08:00. We plan to go cross country to Alston and will stop there till 08:45 in the market place. We will then head to Penrith and should be at the Beehive pub for 09:15 (will you wait for us, we will e-mail a mobile number for us). We will then join you lot on the run down to Kendal, we plan on going to the hotel to meet up for the drive to John Wildings. Should be 4 cars at least, if anyone wants to join us at any of the meeting points feel free, the more the merrier. If you know you'll join us, post a reply so we can keep an eye out you.
