Question Peccy,Marx,Ubik ,Chrissy etc.....Advise plz.

Spent weekend looking around at Type R/RAs and need some advice on what to stay clear of .
Peccy , any pointers other than "Join AA"

They seem to get marked up as Type R , Type RA , 555 and mixed up with a P1.

The one i'm interested in most is a 4 door in met blue , S Reg , roof vent , adjust diff , Leather front seats (Blue) , 4" Hks zorst. This car has no alarm/tracker and no remap. 60k km on clock.£10K
He has told me its a 555 but I thought that 555 was the amount of cars produced and this car has a plaque saying aroung 500 of 1000 near the gear shift ??

Any pointers would be great.

Hi Andy not sure about the 555 stuff but it's a type RA with the sounds of it, bit pricey tho for a S reg i would have thought..

a good place to start is here: http://www.iwoc.co.uk/jpimp4.html check the model code and then match it with the code on the VIN plate on the motor your looking at, might be this one...
GC8E4DD - WRX RA STi4 4 door V-Limited Special edition.

ive also got a very in depth impreza book, which lists all the special editions each year, ill have a look later and get back to you.

CAERFUL if not had a remap, some damage may have already been done if not used with booster, as ya know my version 6 type R Ltd only lasted 2 week without a remap when arrived from japan, although it didnt last much longer after it was remapped either

the adjustable diff is useful though for when it blows up as when in OPEN mode the car can be towed lol, dont be put of by bad experiences, im sure it will be 3rd time lucky with my next one the DCCD is a must for our sunday drives

ps. NEW ERA have got a version 6 type R Ltd same as my old one in if ya can stretch to 14k?

I would say Peccy and Chrissy are the men to talk to. They have had their cars a lot longer and will know a sh*t load more than me .

I just buy from the main dealer and have only recently started making changes to suspension and handling. MY05 Spec-c suspension soon.

Chrissy ,Really sorry mate but he phoned and i had to go straight away to get a test drive in before he went out.

The car is a GC8F4DD which means WRX RA STI5 4 door V Limited special edition 555.
This car goes like stink and scared the Sh:t out of me!! lol 8000rpm limit!!!
DCCD , roof vent ,fully adjustable suspension and proper 17" split rim bbs alloys

The car will have a 10% deposit on it *** 2morrow so m.o.t and registration can go through.
On the down side it needs a full remap , knocklink sensor , cat1 and tracker fitting so will be off road till the new year.

Jan 2005 here i come in my super scoob !!! ha ha

Booked in with their garage tomorrow m8.

If I had the choice I would take it to scoobyclinic but the ball is in their court if ya know what I mean.

They seem to think that the Release /Thrust bearing has failed , so fingers crossed they will av it done in a week.

Will keep you informed tho.
