I thought about calling it The Runs like the Alien films but decided it might deter some
After the huge success of our first run out instead of the fixed meet at Fenay, it was proposed that we make the best of the remainder of the light summer
nights so, onto option 2, the Yorkshire Dales.
This creates a slight logistical problem for the members from the Huddersfield area, as the journey up to the proposed rendezvous outside Ilkley will eat into the meeting/driving/drinking/eating time, so as early a start out as possible would be beneficial. I suggest a route either up the A629 through Halifax, use the B6429 to cut across to Bingley and onto some of the Rombalds Moor roads to skirt around Ilkley Moor to the rendezvous on the A65 east of Ilkley OR up either the M62/M606 or A641 to meet Steve Chaps for a guided run to Ilkley through Bradford (Presuming Steve's OK with that).
Whichever route is taken, we will meet on the A65 just outside Ilkley. There is a large lay-by just before the measured mile into Ilkley at the end of the dual carriageway Burley-in-Wharfedale by-pass.
Once we are all gathered, Dazza, myself or anyone else who would like to lead will treat us to a spirited tour of some of the finest roads in Yorkshire before settling down for refreshments at the Red Lion in Burnsall. Hopefully this time we won't get eaten alive by the entire northern hemisphere insect population

If we attract many more we may draw some unwanted attention, which could be fun

Count me in for the runs, ta
I will be bringing along a few car mags as suggested in another thread for swapsies and general giving away, rather than throwing them.....
I will bring along a few car related DVD's that might be of interest for loaning out.. Clarksons Shootout and the Subaru Story....
I wil also bring along the 'My Car Keys Are Safe' stickers and the WYIOC stickers for members after I forgot them last week..

PS. Thanks for sorting the other weekend out! Sorry, not had chance to thank you properly!
This sounds interesting and I'd like to attend, but the date (Sunday 29th as posted on the SIDC forums - 26th is a Thursday) is right before the August bank holiday - the Dales will be rammed with caravans and loony bikers !

MJW - date now changed on SIDC, you're more than welcome to join us. Thanks for pointing out the Bank Holiday situation, never entered my head. I think we should be OK thursday evening if we stay clear of the main routes, but does anyone else think differently ?
