Default SMACS Run out - Wed 26th

Right, my next run out is a week Wednesday, and Super"Routemiester"Touring has a cracker for you all.

The route takes in a few of the roads that the Yorksire guys took us on last year then cross country to Longnor (for CW) and into Buxton. A variety of roads - single track, twisty lanes, flat open stretches - but mainly lots of fun.

You all have two weeks to arrange passes from wifes/girlfriends/lovedones/bosses, so (why do I bother) lets make an effort.

Come on, I even got the date right this time!

Don't let CW organise the convoy, I seem to recall he missed the first turning off the M6 last year, LOL.

Its very quiet around here without Colonel Chris shouting orders!!!! Come back, all is forgiven.

I WILL come on this run as long as I have got my new shocks and springs on. It sounds like a good one. If the shocks don't get done in time though there is no chance. The car doesn't go around corners as well as a plate of jelly at the moment! Prosport informed me the only things doing any suspension at all are my springs! NICE!

By the way...........anyone ever bought anything big from the states? How much import tax should I expect on around £250? I know they will add VAT but will they add holiday fund tax etc??

As for the Northern Big One, we can't get lost this year with 4 of us with Sat Nav can we???!!!

Mad,

You need to check on the Customs & Excise website, it's out there somewhere. There is a section on Import Tax that list all types of goods and how much you will have to pay. Don't forget they also add VAT based on the cost of the goods + Import Tax. We used it in Japan and worked out that we would not be saving enough to bother with all the hassle of shipping from there whilst we were on holiday.

HAT TEN SHUN! right you orrible lot, whats all this about me missing turns, pot and kettle spring to mind super, especially after your north/south dilemma in cumbria
Put me down for a run out next week, but I'm on nights again, so may not be able to do the whole route.
+ I am bound to get complaints of her indoors as we are going down to warminster on saturday for the mencap classic.
lordharding, are you doing that? if so, get in touch, you could come down to ours on friday with john and tia, stay over, then travel the rest of the way on saturday morning first thing. I'm on nights, so will be ready to travel at 6am on sat at the latest
chris.

Come on Chris as the Colonel in charge you need to start the ball rolling I would not like to tread on your toes.

I can make this as we have now finished the car and are not under the same pressure any more.

OK, lets get some enthusiasm for this weeks run out.

Meeting point is usual place (H&H Dooley Lane) at 7:30 - http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.c...multimap.y=179

Then off across Snake to re-group on A6013 (where P sign is on this map under Priddock Wood) - http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.c...multimap.y=136

Then the route starts in anger, which is expected to take about an hour, ending in Buxton where we can stop for a drink before heading home over Cat&Fiddle and Goyt Valley.

I'm enthusiastic super
How long are you expecting us to be out? What time will we be in Buxton?
I've got to be at work for 10pm at the latest
NWMARK, don't bring the missus m8, she only slows you down even more
Had a lovely run out after work this morning. Stockport to Dean Row Shell garage to fill up and put some air in tyres (experimenting with pressures 36 front 34 rear) then over to macc road, bollington, goyt valley, long hill, whaley (did you hear me at 6:30am andy ) then home. Roads nice a quiet at that time, and the mist on the water of the reservoir down the goyt valley was nice

Lets see, 7:45 leave H&H (latest), then 30 mins to re-group point, then 1 hour run gets us to Buxton at 9:30 ish. There is a point at which we cross the Chapel EnFrith road so you could cut off there if needs be, this is where Bricky left me last time, but you would miss Longnor.

We could meed slight earlier if needs be? Maybe leave H&H at 7:30, those arriving late could head straight to re-group point?

CW, as you are more likely to turn up than most (no names!) lets make it 7:30 sharp leaving H&H. Anyone running slightly late can meet up at re-group at end of Snake (see map on previous post).

We can hang around for a while at re-group point to allow everyone to catch up, but will need SMS to confirm attendance on the night otherwise we will just go once everyone is together again. I can PM my mobile no. to anyone who wants it.
