Cruise West Cumbria 5 report and pics
The cruise atmosphere was the most friendly it has ever been. With the Police making it clear what their position would be weeks before the cruise, everyone could relax and enjoy the night. The warm weather helped to get everyone out of their cars and with a few quality boot installs keeping everyone entertained, there was a real party feeling in the air.
Once again the turnout was awesome. The CWC regulars seemed to be in the minority, as many cars had turned up from much further away. The word about CWC cruises is getting out to all parts of the car community, and with cars like TVR’s and Ferraris turning up, this can only be a good thing. As always there were some very well turned out cars, and it was good to see the progress that has been made in modding cars that have turned up to CWC cruises in the past.
The Police response to the event was measured and proportionate, in stark contrast to how cruises are often dealt with in other parts of the country. The Cumbria Constabulary has earned the respect of much of the Cumbrian cruising community, by demonstrating to the public that the law is being enforced, but at the same time not victimising cruisers.
The last cars left just after midnight, with only the ‘Cruise Wombles’ staying back to clear up the litter. Roll on CWC6………
