Performance Car Meet - Elvington - 16th May
I'm pleased to announce that Megaboost, in association with Straightliners have found a replacement venue for the failed Xscape meet (not sure if anyone told you chaps about that one?)
The new location is Elvington Airfield near York (details in post below) and as well as the intended static meet I'm pleased to say that we'll now have some racing too! I *think* this is the nearest event to your big one too so it's an ideal chance to get some practice in
Full details are available here - please have a read and register your interest, either on there or here (I'll try and keep tabs on all the forums and update my central list).
Please put the 16th of May in your diary and start spreading the word - my aim with this is to get a northern version of Bolney, Ace Cafe etc but with the addition of some racing, it's about time something happened up here and I need as much support as possible to make it work. Hopefully this will be the start of something regular and I'm happy to let things evolve into whatever people want
Hope to see as many of you there as possible - if you are members of any other forums please pass the details on - initially I'm aiming this at Japanese car owners but eventually I'm hoping to include any performance cars, I just don't want it to be a Burberry-clad burnout fest

Yeah I was hoping to be able to use the fact that the event was already in place as a launch pad for this - the problem seems to be getting everyone in the same place at the same time so it seemed like an ideal opportunity - I get the word about the potential regular car meet over to people up at Elvington and at the same time get more people up there to see what it's all about
Hope to see you there, should be an interesting day out.

Out of interest how many of you chaps are likely to be coming?
Does anyone know of any decent EVO and S2000 forums I can advertise the event on or if you are already registered on them could you post up a quick message for me?
That goes for all Japanese car forums actually, please feel free to spread the word so we can get this northern version of Bolney rolling

Firstly I'd like to offer my sincere apologies for my lack of input on this thread, a combination of my regular forums, not setting my profile up for email notifications, work and home life has meant I've not been able to devote as much time as I would have liked to answering questions.
My aim was to keep a central source of info updated at all times but I'm not sure how many people were aware of this - lesson learnt for the next one
Anyway most of the info people will need is here - directions, costs, times etc
In summary the gates will be open from 8.30am, racing starts at 10.30am and finishes at 5pm.
Spectators welcome (small entry charge unfortunately) and anyone racing will need a helmet - I haven't had an opportunity to arrange specific areas for each club or anything so I'm afraid it might be a little bit freestyle, I'm hoping people will be able to sort themselves out but next time I'll try and get some kind of system in place
Thanks for all your support and enthusiasm so far, I'm looking forward to a great day out - we should have some interesting cars!
If you have any questions please let me know.
