Also thanks to everyone turning up and making it such a spectacle.. brilliant.

I can only echo what everyone else has said. TOP DAY. Well thought out safety advice re the overtaking. Good system with the tokens for going on the track. Very useful instruction, well worth the money. Cheers to everyone who had any input whatsoever. When's the next one?????
Washed the car when I got home and had a good look at the tyres. Anyone know where I can get a new set of Yokos? Mine look like Dazza's done a couple of laps on 'em.
Just been watching the footage from my DV camera, and laughed me 'ead off at most of it.
Seriously thinking of going the route of buying a cheap import and a trailer for future (ab)use
Thanks again everyone, see you at the 'bridge' after next, as I'm away on business for the next couple of weeks.

A big thanks to Dave for making this happen, a very enjoyable well organised day, glad I had tuition as it’s made me realise how many bad habits I’ve got (and still have)
Was also good to experience both wet and dry and the difference each make in terms of handling, think I have the bug now, the family holiday will have to make way for my block bookings in track days.
Also a good turnout, met some nice people who hopefully will be back for more in the near future, I certainly will.
Well I don’t know about everyone else but I’m completely knackerd now, early morning start combined with mental concentration and the worry of what the worse could happen has worn me out, or could it be just old age kicking in early….

Thanks to everyone for today, a great crowd. That girl in the Shell garage didn't know what was going on . Glad everyone had a great day and there were no tears. The timing went a bit t!t5 up, so we'll address that next time. Now we have one under our belt, the next one will be easy. Let's just say that everyone did a 1:17 (except Dazza ) 'cos I'm told that was my best time .
I'll try and get my vid footage (not very good from digital camera) onto a disc for Fenay. Dazza, those pics are superb. Well done.
Given the apparent success of today, shall we discuss another sometime in the autumn? Rallydrive is coming into its busy season now, but as it tapers off later in the year we should be able to make a booking. Hopefully by then I'll have some 18" OZ 'legs, so my WRX wheels can be (ab)used then. Better brakees are on the shopping list too
CU all @ Fenay, Cheers, CB.
Edited to add clicky to Dazzas piccys in the gallery. Thanks again daz, CB.

Hey guys, back from my skiing holiday middle of the afternoon, delayed flight so would never have got there!!
Really glad the day went down a treat for everyone, and that all men and motors returned home in one piece.
I will definately be in for one in the autumn, no chance of double booking with holidays that time of year.
Really gutted I missed out now, pictures look great...
C everyone in a couple of weeks at the Bridge...

Guys, it's just occurred to me that we paid £21 based on a number of cars turning up, a couple of which never did. Surely this must leave CB out of pocket somewhat.
Dave, it might only be a few quid, but I'm sure that none of us want that to be the case. Let us know, eh!
I'll send my bit to the next bridge gathering with someone trustworthy and reliable, or Dazza.

Andy,
I was going to raise this offline with Dave after he got home and worked it out. But you're right. I do think Dave is out of pocket as some did drop out. I think we paid for 18 at the time, and when we collected the money, we did expect some more to turn up, so its probably near £20 (and he bought those BBQ packs as well)
Dave, mail me the details and I will kindly request everyone to come up with the difference.
Don't be a martyr, regardless of the fact you organised it (which will be your excuse), it's only fair you're not out of pocket mate... OK?

A great day and worth the 2hr trip to get there. It was great to have some fun in the wet early on and then have some dry running in the afternoon.
The instruction was well worth 30 quid, but being a passenger in your own car around the track was not a pleasurable experience. At least he missed all the cones.
I learnt a great deal, esp how much damage a cone can do to your front spoiler

Guys,
I've been admiring your pics from the day at RallyDrive and I just wanted to offer you the use of a gallery on my website if you wanted to make them a bit easier to view and keep them all together.
No worries if not, just thought I'd offer! (And I'm quite keen to have a Scooby collection as that's what I'm after now!!)
Just drop me a mail and I'll set it up, anyone can load pics after that.
Cheers
It's at http://www.hankscorpio.com/cars/
(I tried to send Dazza a PM but his mailbox is full)

in the cold light of day...
you should see my tyres... well the left front at least... Mmmmm. think i needa set of hard track rubber sticking on for the next attempt...
Thanks for the ride Evosticky.. ... very good ride. I think I managed to say ...nice! once the whole way around... Cool... me lost for words
The Evo was so much stiffer sprung than the Sti, cornerd really flat, with excelent grip... Very nice... very very impressed, driven hard like sticky did you can see why they are so good on a track... mine just seemed to slide around everywhere with much more wieght transfer. I was having to correct the thing constantly trying to get the ballance right, wasn't that impressed with the on limit handling with standard Sussy setup, you have to be more agresive to get the speed out of it. "this will end up on the Evo site I'm sure"
defo need some springs and poss shocks too make make it corner as predicatable as the evo... Sticky was a most impressive pilot too.. must have been that instruction he had...
no, full marks Sticky's driving, quite a hand...

So why then, after I got the fastest lap of the day, did you go out and knock a couple of seconds off it? You just wouldn't let it lie, would you?
Git.
The in-car footage I get from your back seat is 'interesting' to say the least. Gonna need a bleep box when it's edited down onto DVD
I've volunteered your services to collect any DV tapes that people may want to let me have, so I can do a full DVD edit type thing, if you wouldn't mind picking 'em up at the next meet. Oh, and if you'd pay CB what's owed for me I'll straighten up with you when I collect the tapes (and me PC )
Thanks for the rides Dazza. Must try and get out with a few more of you guys next time.

Thanks for the consideration guys. I was gonna discuss it privately with Al at The Bridge, but seeing as it's out in the open. I think I'm about £40 down, plus £15 for the BBQ's (we only used one of the three, but I'll be saving them for the next session). What I suggest is that as some of the attendees aren't regular Leather Pickers (making it hard to collect fairly), that I add a small premium onto next times to cover my (small) loss. It would work out at about £2.75 each if we get the full 20 next time.
Howard is probably still in Mexico, but I'll try and get in touch in a few days and get some dates together for another run. How does everyone feel about september? If that's too long (I need to save for wheels ) please bear in mind that you can always go on your own for about £65/day anytime. Just give Howard/Ruth a call. You might be sharing the track with some others, but that could be fun!
Next time, what about a couple of sessions specifically for timing? It was difficult to ID which car you were timing, so we could let one car out at a time for 2-3 laps at maybe 11am and 3pm.
Oh, heads up for the Mexico Rally footage at 3pm.

Wish you had said something yesterday as we would have all chipped in the extra as even then it would still have been a bloody cheap fun day out.
Thanks again for organsing it - I'm certainly much happier with my powerslides now

Fabulous day out!
I was approaching it with a bit of caution as I was expecting the track to be very hard on the tyres. Turns out it wasn't that bad after all To top it off, it was only £21!!!
I agree with comments above, Dave you should not be out of pocket one penny for this. I will be up for attending the next one and can give you the difference then. Alternatively you can e-mail me your full name and address and I'll pop a cheque in the post to you.
So, thanks to Dave for organising such a great day. Thanks to Tony for lending me his fuel nozzle (my adapter would not fit on the jerry can!!!) I would have been knackered without it.
Thanks to Dazza and any others who took pics of my car. I just need to figure out how to get my in-car video footage onto my PC lol!!!
Have to agree with comments about not liking someone else driving my car. I really did not like that. Last time I let someone do that they damaged it!
All we need to do now is get pads and tyres for £20 and we can do this every weekend.
Damian.

I have 30mins of in-car footage.
But can't get from my camcorder to my PC yet as I need a firewire cable. (swines did not include that with camcorder).

Damian, was your car a Jap spec STi8? I recall Mike saying it was the fastest car there, even than the Evo (spit ). Sorry I didn't get to speak to you, but next time I'd love a ride in the beaut.

David,
Yeah, mine is the Jap spec one.
Mike did say it was the quickest car and was very impressed by the whole car. He said it should be capable of doing the circuit (timed between the two cones i.e. not the full lap) in 56 seconds. There rally prepped cars do it in 59secs IIRC what he said.
No problem David, the sooner we have another the better for me Beats paying £140/£165 for circuit trackdays!
My speedo stopped working and now works intermittently. So I am taking it back tommorrow to have it checked at Powerstation (setting off at 4am!). 370 mile round trip just to sort the speedo. But I have I am going to get them to fit a Knocklink I bought in a previous group buy. It is also an excuse to go for a test drive in the type 25!
So come the next track day Dave you might just get a ride in a type 25 (my car is the base model they use to convert to the type 25) which should be slightly quicker .
Better get to bed, won't wake up for 4am otherwise lol!

I've done their track in a standard classic turbo in 59.8s, so 56 is stunning. I can't wait to have another go, but not be bothered about the brakes and tyres. I'm hoping by next time to have 18" OZ 'legs for road use, freeing up the ugly WRX wheels for track only. Add to that some DS2500 pads and braded hoses, and I might get somewhere near. I doubt by september (if we can wait that long ) I'll have got the Prodrive springs and droplinks, but my strut brace is on order.
Will you be joining us at Fenay ?
