Anyone from Wilmslow (manchester) area???
Between Wilmslow and the M56 there`s 2 tunnels that go under runways for manchester airport, just wondering if there are speed camera`s in or around the tunnels? coz i was dying give it some thru the tunnels but chickened out in case there were any speed camera`s. I did notice some camera`s but wasn`t sure if they were just to monitor traffic flow etc.

No worries...
Should be fine : I know the camera's you've spotted, I'm pretty sure they're traffic flow cameras. And I know what you mean about the sound the Impreza makes going through there.
Be careful, mind you : traffic police going to and from Wilmslow use that road, and there have been some scary accidents on there. And watch out after the second tunnel : 2 lanes go into 1 very quickly.

some rather famous Ferrari driving celebs have stuffed their car there, not a wise place to go mad i would say. I wouldnt even be at all surprised if there are surveylance camera's hidden in those bridges for airport security.

I was in Manchester for 13 years or so and AFAIK the blue cameras are for traffic flow... BUT I think they have special mode for P1 drivers giving it some
Can't remember the Man U Player who stuffed it there..but at a wage of £56 grand a week (in 1996)... who cares ??

was it that hairy left winger? or am i miles off? am not too hot on man utd players (sick of football anyway, with all that diving and poncing about).
I must admit that i did give it a little (didn`t go mental though), i just didn`t want to say it until i got some feedback as to what the camera`s are there for. The `ol afterburner sounded good!!!!!!! as a bloke in an Aston DB7 just behind me will testify (well, he put his fingers in his ears and was laughing when he passed me just after the tunnels)

I've yet to do the tunnels, although scoobygav555 keeps telling me I should do it! With my straight through bpm 3" twister, it should sound quite tremendous, maybe we should include it in the next smacs run out!!!

The problem with them is that after comming through Wilmslow it is the first opportunity to get past all the slow gits, so the temptation to speed there is overwhelming. I don't think there are any cameras there, but ideal spot for plod with a speed gun!

Your right a blitz sounds amazing through there, I had a mate who worked at FLS at the airport and reckons theres no fixed cameras there but quite often sees bacon wagons parked at the end of them catching people as they leave.

As far as I know there are no speed cameras there, but I do know that if you STOP in either of the tunnels the armed response crew descend on you like a ton of excrement so obviously the cctv style cameras ARE manned
PS my scoob's been through on full noise on more than one ocassion & I've never had any comeback

Drove through there every morning and night for a year and a bit not so long ago.... it is very tempting to give it some but i lost count the numbers of times i saw plod parked at the end ready to catch you. Does sound very goooood with the windows down .

The boys in blue do sometimes have a camera van before the tunnels after the lights off the M56.
Used to go through there in my Grale with Group A zorst, sounded awesome.
Footie players were Summerbee and Kinkladze from City.
Cheers
