Ok look
here and you will see the York race meets in August.
By chance, the 20th August happens to be my birthday
, so i was thinking of organising a day out at the races, perhaps meeting at Edwards in town, late morning and then walking to the racecourse.
Suit, shirt and tie job (more fun
), loads of champagne, and great time.
Whos up for it??

Really sorry mate, I can't: I've just told my project director about courses and holidays that I've got booked, and I think it's fair to say that taking another day off in August would be Bad.

Just to let you know Steven, edwards no longer exists
It is in the middle of being gutted & they have just put signs outside advertising an 80's bar!

chiark,
I am planning to leave Derby at 3:30pm and be up to York at around 6 at a guess..
I can pick you up from work...or meet you in York someone and we can then catch up with the lads?
I cannot take the day off either you see..

Don't suppose anyone going to the races will be driving anywhere near to selby on the way and would be able to offer me a lift?
don't fancy getting the bus or train in my suit, especially if the weather's like this!
Cheers,
Gareth
