Karting this Saturday - anyone interested ?
Just a reminder that we have a fantastic karting event lined up for this coming Saturday, 23rd November at Raceland (www.raceland.co.uk) near Edinburgh.
We'll be racing outdoors (yes it's November!!), on their fantastic 930m outdoor track, using twin engined pro-karts capabale of 70+mph!
The race will be a 2 hour endurance event, with 4 drivers per team. There is also a 30 minute practice period to get everyone familiar with the karts and track.
The arrival time is 3pm, when you'll sign-on, get changed into racing suits (supplied), gloves, crash helmet etc., with the practice starting at 3:30pm prompt.
Shortly after the practice finishes, the race itself will start. It's a 2 hour race, and the team which has completed the most laps within the two hour period gets the trophy and bubbly.
To make things more interesting, there are also fuel stops to be considered (you can't run the whole distance on one tank!), and multiple driver changes. It's up to the team to decide how long each driver has per driving stint, and when to call them in for a driver change.
We also run a handicap system, based on driver weight, experience, and previous results, to even things out and keep the racing close right to the finish.
We still have some spaces left for both whole teams, and individuals to take part (we'll place you in a team with others), and if you are interested, then please let me know.
The price - a mere £40. If you are interested, then please reply by e-mail and I'll mail you back a booking/confirmation form.
