The APS pipes - especially the pipe from the air filter side running past the turbo and the pipe leading from the rhs out of the turbo

looked like tin foil, wrapped around with clips to hold in place

As the pipes get very warm around this area! and thus heat up the air!

Harvey was showing about 28/29 on the rollers on his gauge - I was showing at some times over 40! - I was not happy.. Last time it didnt budge above 27 - must have been the higher temps on the day

My cars much, much, much faster on the road than last time

May sell the car and move up a league

Hi banshi,

We could do. Think maybe it's better if we all make our own way, doesn't attract as much attention, and it nearly killed me last time driving all the way to Batley at 70mph on the nose!

Cheers

Surely you mean that 70mph was the 'top speed' of your Subaru 'sport'? ........... and you could not have gone faster if you tried.... hahhaaaaaaa

Getting an uprated fuel pump this weekend - seems the Scooby fuel pumps are just not up to the job......

Debating the Billies at the moment - also debating the stereo system that lowers the rear end by 20mm!

Cheers Bob for letting me know

Steve,

I was considering an uprated pump myself. Do you reckon it's a waste of time if I'm using the standard injectors?

Cheers

If your pumping more fuel than standard in then your working the pump harder - running higher boost I suspect you must be using more fuelling throughout the rev range - so its a good investment.

Dont think it can harm on a car your age. You can get them from Demon Tweaks - about £200 though with the VAT!

Will be interesting to here the result of your modification - as long as it doesnt take you up to 350bhp I'll be happy.....

One of my Gensis amps has just packed up -I'm not happy this afternoon

Cheers Steve,

Might be worth considering.

Hi Tone,

I think I'll try to stick to that order as a guideline, bu if people want to come late/go early or whatever I can juggle them about. It'll be much more flexible than the last one where Banzai pretty much set the running order with me at the start.

We could convoy up, but as I said above it means we'll have to stick to 70 as we'll be rather conspicuous and I wouldn't want anyone getting a ticket because of me. My brother got stopped the other week for the heinous crime of having a small front number plate

Might be better for us to make our own way up there at our own pace. Could always meet up at Birch and then shoot off individually?

Cheers

Question

I'm currently first reserve. What are my chances of turning up and getting a run? I don't want to travel all that way for nothing !

Steve

PS I'm from West Cumbria

If your going for the uprated fuel pump get it from these guys Rich... http://www.fuelsystem.co.uk/new_page_3.htm

Its the same as what you`ll get from Demon, PE, RC Developments but £30 cheaper .... its a Walbro exactly the same, as these guys supply the afore mentioned company`s.

I got mine from these guys after John (my m8 with other Evo) got his from RC, guess who was smiling and who was`nt ..hehe

Works out £152.75 with the VAT and its carriage free too!

Rich.

P.S. I expect to be AT LEAST 20 bhp above the other other Evo now!

Hi,

Steve and Nick. Obviously as a resrve I can't GUARANTEE that you'll get a run but there is a more than decent chance. At the last meet there were a few who couldn't make it on the day due to various reasons, as there always is, things come up etc..

It's up to you really. If I were you, I'd come just to watch anyway as it is great fun and if you actually get on yourselves, view it as a bonus. Well Lane are quite strict about doing a max of 25, so it's their call in the end really.

Hope to see you there, anyway.

There's always room for a fellow Scoobynetter.

Can't promise a run though as there's loads of reserves before you but you are welcome to come and show your face and meet a few fellow Scooby drivers and chew the fat.

What are your mods btw?

Rich

Hi Rich: Steves crown is safe for now as far as I am concerned. 340 bhp on standard VF28 is pretty good and it will stay that way for a bit now until I can sort out the best turbo and any other mods to finish it off with. Hope to end up in the 355/360 bracket but that could be 3or4 months away.
