Let me know what you think guys....

Weekend in Isle of Man... some of the best roads you'll ever drive I guarantee

Let me know your thoughts on locations.. alternative dates etc etc

The reason I picked that date out of the air is because SSO is usually in May and TOTB usually in July and as they are on our doorstep would be a shame not to go to them

Now if anyone fancies it and would like to start a fund to put into until then, I would be quite happy to keep money with a book with the NYSOC money

Quick recky up .....

Fuel to Liverpool and back £50-00
Ferry return £200-00
Hotel £150-00 based on £35 pp per night
Food & refreshments well this would vary wouldnt it
fuel on island £50-00 petrol prices are the same as here

so you are probably looking at around £500 ....

If anyone wants to check alternative dates ... Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Ferry Services - Ferry services to and from the Isle of Man, Heysham, Liverpool, Belfast and Dublin

And Steve is it possible purlease to have a look see what sort of price we could get say 10 double rooms for please ... thank you

Sounds good, will have a look at work, coz it will come under a group booking, so only some hotel take them,

But i will warn u it can sometime be cheap to book with the hotel it self.

Just getting some price's as we dont have the rates for may as yet, so the lass is doing some ringing around,

asked for 3night 29th may, B/B as its cheaper, 10 double rooms, with 2 off them with sofa bed for kids (family room) but its only going to be a rough price, as we will need the numbers of whos going fast and the money fast as its not like a travel agent where you can pay alittle at a time, it all the cost to get the best rate,.

Here comes some common sense.... what about dates Jim/Aileen ?

Cost for a double room in June time is about 80-100 B&B and the ferry is round about £180 return... so what about dates?

Weather
Situated in the Irish Sea, the Isle of Man's climate is similar to that of Britain and Ireland, namely mild (due to the warm currents of the Gulf stream) and often wet. This makes the island perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling, although it's always wise to bring your waterproofs. November to February is generally the rainiest time of year, but temperatures rarely dip below zero. The summer - May to August - is warm (16-25ºC).

Any time is good for me apart from one week around easter. Cant just remember which week but i can check tomorrow.

Do we want to avoid half term week? Is that the end of may, around the bank holiday time?
