Default 2014 Budget .....

Tax start point to be raised to above £10,000.

Of course, the Tories oppose it ....... but it will come into effect on the date of the next election, so it will happen in the Budget (maybe not in reality)

What do you mean 'of course the Tories oppose it'?

The last time I checked the PM and COTE were Tories, it would not be in the budget if they opposed it

Encourage the easily led to spend money they don't have, punish those with half a brain. Pretend the economy is improving, win the election, pretend we're not paying more and more taxes for less and less services. Add a massive PR machine to the mix, make the voters feel pleased with themselves, repeat ad infinitum until the we can't borrow any more and the economy freefalls into the abyss.

Great for the low paid, but we still need incentives for the better paid, ie over 31 k.
Don't drag it all down to the lowest common denominator.

I'm thinking that the Barristers will be so pleased ...... they work 51 weeks for less than £27,000 a year you know? ..... it's true, a Lawyer told me!!

And since when was £31,000 better paid? Come on ....... it's about time we helped those who drive the country and they are on £75,000+

There should be ONE tax rate of 30% - starting at £20,000 ..... if only so that the Barristers who are working for love get a decent crack of things .......

No-one actually ever paid 50% Tax ....... Labour made sure it came in after the last election.

BUT, they knew that the Tories would reverse it and they could (rightly) claim that the Tories only look after the rich ................ the same way that this Government will announce a starting rate for tax at £10,500 - to take effect in April 2015.

So, whoever wins can scrap it ...... pointless - and they treat you all like morons and idiots (they already know I am!).

Yes, but if we all simply accept that all of them are holier than thou, then what will we have to have one over someone else, eh? This is Scoobynet, and our motto is to b1tchfight with one another for anything possible.

I once said something against Osborne here (each to their own etc., like), and I was asked if I knew him 'personally' to dislike him like that. I don't know why the other party took my criticism of him so personally to ask that, as they're no personal @rsekissers to Osborne's real butt either, but just on the internet only. Then I understood that they just needed to fight to cyber-believe in their non-existing upper hand, which made perfect sense.

People will do a anything to "win" an argument on the internet.

It's very silly.

Well put. They all talk about the 10k level, now they are on about raising it to 12.5k. Who would have thought, that right now, it is still 9440.
