Le Mans 2002 Camping HELP
#1
I'm going to Le Mans for the 24hour, but have just had a reply that all camping on the circuit is sold out(took 6 weeks to let me know)
Does anyone have a spare camping ticket for the circuit, that they cannot use and want to sell?
Failing that, can anyone recommend some local camping?
Thanks
Graham

Graham,
camping has been sold out the past few years, but hasn't stopped me camping at the circuit!!
The pre-sold tickets are for the infield camp sites.
There is Camp Site Blue just outside the circuit, behind the start/finish grandstands. Cars are normally still piling into this site on the Saturday morning of the race. Probably best to get there for Friday afternoon, but don't expect to be able to get your car out until Sunday.....parking becomes quite hap-hazard once the race is under way!
I think camping is about £10 per car. To get there, get onto the Le Mans ringroad, and follow the signs for Park Blue - simple(ish)!!

Our group booked four camping passes in August and were told our credit card would be charged nearer the time. We contacted them a few weeks back to say we hadn't received them and they denied all knowledge of our contact. We sent them their emails and even got a French speaking person to call about the problem. They said tough and that it is that.
Apparently the problem is with car clubs buying whole fields. I may register for the Caterham Owners club (pretending obviously) just so I can get a camping pass for Le Mans.
This was for camping in Parking Blue.

DaveD is absolutley right
Camping Blue is just on the right as you arrive outside the main grandstand.
It costs about 100Fr and lst year actually had a portakabin with bogs and a shower.
Enjoy

Yup! You look on your ticket "Camping in the carpark strictly forbidden etc. etc." We showed up with just "Car Park Bleu" tickets got asked "Are you camping?" "yes..." "Over here then!" Showers, Bogs, Result!
