3%, and our net profit has seen an increase this year too, so hoping for at least the same sort of amount come April fingers crossed.

My previous emplyment though, saw a wage reduction each winter as the economic climate went into freefall.

I had a pay holiday (i.e 100% reduction)

Business is still going...how long for?....after fifty odd years I'd like to hope it picks up.

We're supposed to get a pay rise every October, but due to the economic situation, we got nothing Oct 2012. Apparently the union fought this and we did get a 1% rise early-ish 2013, nothing since. Will we get one this year....?no idea, but heard no talk of one.

One person I know hasn't had a pay rise for seven years, and he's in a skilled job.

Over the last 2 years I've been lucky enough to get around a 20% rise, but that's more to training and getting to senior engineer level. Others have seen a 7-8% rise, but after 2-3 years of not having one. Although most of our main clients are banks, so we're lucky they always seem to have a bit of spare cash available.

this should be titled pay cut every year for the last 5.
nothing for 4 years then 2% which is a pay cut as inflation is 2.7%,
told our area manager the other week i can earn more stacking shelves per hour in tesco, he never even flinched, hopefully if i can find something else i can hand my notice in 2weeks before my manager want's a holiday, and **** em over

Salaries may not have gone up for some, but for 24 million workers in the basic rate tax bracket have seen the level of income tax they pay go down as their personal allowance increased:
2010/11 - £6,475
2011/12 - £7,475
2012/13 - £8,105
2013/14 - £9,440
2014/15 - £10,000

That is true. Changes in the tax bracket have made more difference to me than any pay rise over the last couple of years. Saying that, I'm only about £14 a week 'better off' now, than 5 years ago.

I'm guessing it will be a pathetic 6% like the last 7 years

It's performance based, so it's my own fault I guess?

0% for the last 5 years. Construction industry.

Things are picking up, and in fact we're flat out, with other major projects in the pipeline for this year. So, fingers crossed for this April. Hoping it's more than 1-2% rise.

I know your only fishing but just in case others believe you, there is NO firm in this country that would of raised wages by 6% each year as the global economy is a way for the world to keep all its workers in the gutter and say " think yourself lucky you have a job "

I got 11.2% this year , last year we got 8%

Extremely busy at work though and massive growth in the company for the last 5 years , were heavily involved with Motorsport , f1 , aerospace and hmgcc though and all of the above have no idea what the word recession means

Rumour has it that we may be getting a rise this year, nothing last year though and this was despite a fairly good year for the company but we were given the spiel about the need to brace ourselves for the economic times ahead.

0% at my last review though I had only been with the company a few months. Hoping for something above inflation this coming review.

All we seem to see at Tata Steel is job cuts

Have to laugh or we'd all cry.

My basic take home pay has gone up roughly 335% in the 4 years I've been here, from an apprentice on under £500 p/m to a time served crafts person now. Last year it was 3.75%, which was broken down of 2.5% off the quarterly bonus scheme (5% year before) and 1.25% 'new money'.

For the job we do, the wage in comparison to contracting isn't great but I'm 1.5 miles from home, have a good British Steel pension, get sick pay, remainder of the bonus and 40/41 holiday days a year.

Come April/May, I'll be glad to still have a steelworks to go to.

TATA have shut down the last steel works in this area.

Which I find odd...seeing its sheet steel. And they tout that sales and production at Jag Land Rover are forever booming......so where TF is the steel comming from??? (OK I know some Jags and Landys are part aluminium, but not all of them! )

I haven't had a pay rise for years and today I got my P45.

No doubt someone will know better come along argue and tell me I'm wrong, I didn't get my P45.
