Today my cousin set a new world record.
I thought I'd share this good news seeing as NSR doesn't get much of it these days!
My 11-year old cousin who lives in Corpus Christi ran in the Houston half-marathon and set the new world record for his age group. He ran it in 1:23:56 and his older 13-year old brother came 3rd.
It was previously held by somebody from Sweden.
Very proud of them anyway

Thanks guys.
The amazing thing is that my older cousin (the 13-year old) has tourettes and they both love running and competing together. It's just what they love to do and his tourettes completely goes away when he's focused on training and running.

Well done indeed and even more impressive with the fact that the distance is greater for them due to their shorter legs

Wow!!! That is really good. 17mins quicker than I've ever managed at that distance and I was reasonably fit then. Cracking time. Nice one.

Nah he just looks like a normal 11-year old boy. He beat the record by 7 minutes and here's a short video of an interview if anyone's interested.

Wow. I did the hatfield 10k a few years back in about 1hr 35m. Mind you, my training regime was a night on the beers before and a couple of cigarettes on the morning. My running mates did it in 35m and 45m from memory.
